Morning all
It feels very cold here this morning but the sun is trying to get out so hopefully it will warm up a bit later, I am off to mums this morning to do some work and we have a man coming to clean her oven which is long overdue, this afternoon she wants to go to do some food shopping, we also need to book her an opticians appointment.
Dinner for us tonight will be roast lamb from yesterday there is plenty left, the dogs also had a roast yesterday which they lapped up, we have not had one for a few months so it all went down very well.
I will get a few bits while I am out with mum we don’t need much but I might as well grab it while I’m there.
Have good days all and take care xx

Good morning Ruby, thanks for starting us.
Bright and sunny, but very chilly. Today I'm off to the eye clinic for my first appointment for my cataract surgery. To say I'm nervous is putting it mildly, but it has to be done.
No idea what's for tea, I haven't thought that far ahead.
Have a good day all, take care.13 -

I have some good ideas so hopefully I can be strategic. I also have another V!need parcel to post. More fundraising money into the pot.Dinner is chicken in mascarpone and tomato sauce.Have a good day everyone.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 18/25 Currently reading It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover12 -
Morning all. Definitely colder last night; we put the electric blanket back on the bed yesterday so just in time!
This morning I've washing to hang out then ironing to do. I might get round to making a cake and I'm making stilton and broccoli soup to have tonight. Other than that it will be a pottering day.
@remmie I've had cataracts done and lens replacements to both eyes over the years; there's honestly nothing to worry about and I'm sure you'll be pleased with the result.
Happy Monday everyone.13 -
Morning all - thanks for the start @Ruby - I hope that all goes well with the oven cleaning. My weekend in Belfast was all too short though I enjoyed it. The coach and ferry journeys each way were delightful, I'm so glad I did that over flying. The independent company, Hanoon, have great drivers and comfortable coaches, despite the long days it was worth it. And, being with family was, as always, a joy. Unfortunately the comedian we went to see was dreadful, a couple of glasses of wine soon put us all in a better mood afterwards!
We all stayed in a really lovely hotel at the old gasworks as everywhere in the centre was booked up for the Belfast half-marathon which was held yesterday.
I managed to get off the Belfast bus and directly onto the Campbeltown one in time so didn't need to stop over last night, another piece of pleasure, so was home by 7.30p.m.. I was parked right outside the Chinese take-away so couldn't resist getting some hot food - mind you I only ate two mouthfuls before heading for bed. It'll be my delight today and probably tomorrow. Haven't had one for at least six months so don't feel too bad about it.This morning I have to do some shopping, a return to M&S and a collection too. I'm not going to my exercise class as I'm too worn out. There's some house admin to do and a birthday present to order.I hope that everyone has had a good weekend too and are all well. Hugs to all.9 -
Good morning 😊
The days are rushing by at the minute. Today is full of chores. I hurt my knee after our last hike, and it has been aggravating, so nothing much has been done. So far, I’ve cleaned the bathrooms, but that’s it.
I finished a book last night: Finding Grace by K.L. Slater. It started off really well, but the last 25% left a lot to be desired, and strayed into the realm of fantasy.
Dinner tonight is gammon, egg and chips for the meat eaters, and I have a vegan cottage pie.
Hope you all have a good day 😊12 -
Morning folks and thanks RUBY.
Cor blimey what a cold start here. Woke up to a frost covered field, a bit of a shock after all the mild weather we have had. That's now disappearing where the sun is reaching it. Back in better times we would be off walking the hills on a day like this but those times have gone sadly.
REMMIE good luck today. There is no bigger wuss than me when it comes to eyes and honesty the thinking about it is worse than the actual doing of it
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all xx

Morning everyone
We had a nice sunny day yesterday but it got cold as it got later. I need to order myself a new electric blanket as mine stopped heating up properly at the end of last winter...I like to get into a warm bed.
We've got sun forecast for the next week...Izzy has a good week for Northumberland.
I've some jobs to do this morning then work later. I might pop over to my friends' for a cuppa when I get home again,
I hope everyone has a good day today x9 -
Hi everyone,
Remmie, good luck, Steve had his done and was fine, although we're both contact lens wearers (or Steve was) so we're used to lots of messing around with eyes.
Glad you had a good time Gers.
It was lovely having the family back for the weekend and we are going to Bristol on Wednesday so will soon see them again. It's L and B's 10th wedding anniversary this week so they have booked a couple of things to do.
My ankle suddenly seems a lot better thank goodness, hopefully that will get L off my back about going to see someone about it. It's still a bit swollen but hopefully that will go soon.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning allWent out to the freezer in the garage and that wind is really cold this morning. Sun is low in the sky so it's not popping up over the trees so it feels even colder out there!Put breadmaker on early this morning so it should be done soon. Pottering about this morning. Did some pruning etc with my houseplants and tidied the kitchen. Just been on the exercise bike so now sitting with a coffee. Nothing else plannedHave a good day all x7

Thanks for starting us off today @Ruby and good morning to all. It's a bright and sunny start to the day with just a gentle breeze and no rain expected, to be followed by a clear and cold night - just like yesterday. This morning I noticed there was a bit of condensation on the bottom of all the windows (now wiped off) just to remind me of how cold it was last night. I think my new slipper boots and PJs arrived just in time!
I had a peaceful day yesterday and sent off a grocery order for delivery on Tuesday. I noticed the SM has mince pies on sale already - madness, we haven't even had Bonfire Night yet - but I'll not be tempted into buying any since I have two jars of RTC mincemeat in the cupboard to use and will make my own. Not just yet though, it's a bit too early!
Today I have some washing to do and a batch of mac'n cheese to make, some of which is for tea tonight and the rest to be frozen. This is why the freezer takes an eternity to run down! I'll do a bit more of the new cross stitch this afternoon while the light is still good and tonight will settle down to watch the last Brokenwood Mystery of the series. I always think of this as being New Zealand's equivalent of Midsummer Murders.
@remmie - Good luck for today. Is this your initial assessment or the actual surgery? Anyone who's had this done (me included) will tell you it's not as bad as you fear but, despite that, it's natural to be apprehensive. You'll be fine.
@Gers - Sounds like an excellent weekend was had in Belfast, glad to hear your journey there and back went so smoothly.
@TA - I think you've probably struck it lucky with a dry and sunny week for your last van trip of the year, even though the nights are going to be chilly. Wrap up warm!
Right, time to make a start on the new week so I'll wish everyone a good day. Rest that knee @TTB, glad your ankle feels a bit better @snoozer. Healing wishes for anyone else who's not feeling 100%. Take care all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8
