Iceland: £15 Christmas Bonus

Iceland are repeating their Christmas bonus card offer.

If you top up your bonus card with a total of £100 by 28th October, you will get the usual £5 bonus (£1 for every £20 saved) and an extra £15 credit added in November, so a total of £120 to spend for paying £100.

The bonus does need to be spent for Christmas, but it will be used up first before the real "cash" so there is no need to spend the whole balance before Christmas.

Can be topped up and/or spent in store or online. Credit card top ups count as purchases so combining with interest free credit card offers works to benefit from the bonus.

Not sure if customers know that you have to put £100 more on the card in 1 transaction to get the bonus.

I put £140 in 2 transactions last year and never got the bonus as C/s said I had to put the money in 1 go to qualify for the extra bonus.

I can't comment on last year, but the terms and conditions for this offer clearly state in paragraph 3 that an aggregate total of £100 in one or " a series of"  transactions, so it doesn't need to be done in one go. I have never had a problem receiving bonuses in the past.

    3. To qualify for a total £20 bonus, customers must add an aggregate of £100 of new savings in one or a series of transactions onto their Bonus Card during the Promotional Period either online or via the app. Existing savings will not be taken into account.

    Thanks for that info.

Last year's offer I wasn't alone in the non payment of bonus as family members had the same outcome and lots of Iceland customers went on X and trustpilot and voiced their opinion on non payment of the bonus.

If you are loading the Bonus card with a LBG credit card check for Iceland cashback,  Lloyds are currently giving 2% for me - every little helps.

My £15 bonus arrived this morning. It's showing in the app as a top up. The Ts&Cs say before tomorrow so any not showing may be on the way.

Received the £15 bonus and shopped today for the first time since. Used the bonus card but can't see any evidence that the payment came out of £15 bonus first rather than the whole bonus card balance.
Where does it actually state that payments will come out of the £15 bonus first? I will struggle to spend the whole amount of £100 plus the £15 bonus by December 22nd otherwise.
Is it classed as "gestures" on the receipt?

On the receipt, the bonus card will show as the payment method and at the top of your receipt your remaining bonus card balance, including any already added bonus amounts will show.

    The terms state...

    5. If the additional £15 bonus earned during the Promotional Period is not spent it will expire and be removed from the Bonus Card on 24.12.25.

The £15 bonus should have been added onto your balance on 21 Nov, so if you'd topped up £100 exactly, you'd have a balance of £120 showing, £5 as a "refund" (which is how the regular bonus shows) as £15 as a top-up (as my post above). Point 5 above doesn't explicitly say the £15 bonus is spent first, but it is after I queried with them. I have done this many times for many years. As long as you have spent at least £15 by Christmas Eve, your entire remaining balance remains. The standard £5 bonus doesn't expire. Just use the bonus card at least once every 24 months (spend or top up) to keep it active, even if you spend or top up £1 it keeps the whole balance active for another 24 months period.
