Can I complain to someone Cabot threatening letter

Been on path of asking for CCAs over period of time . Success with some . However Cabot sent letter 6/8/25 stating couldn’t find documentation for Santander loan

then on 11/8/25 offered 75% discount . But today receive another letter saying defaulted and they ‘may consider sending an agent to visit you at home ‘ ! I find this very worrying and feel it’s not right . Any suggestions please ? Many thanks

Just ignore them, anyone coming to your door has as much power as the milkman.1

Can I complain to anyone about this ?0

doubt it - just because they can't provide the CCA doc doesn't mean the debt doesn't exist...1

Have you told them clearly you will not be making any payment while the debt is unenforceable?1

No , advised by other forum members to not engage0

I have letter clearly saying they can’t provide CCA , if they find it then obviously things change but I find it very bad that they feel they can use ‘scare tactics’0

I suggest you email them saying clearly you will not be making any payments and will not speak to any callers to your house. You just have to say this once, no need to keep replying to them, but I think it helps to be clear
, which so far you have not been.

The fact a debt may be deemed unenforceable only prevents a creditor from taking legal action to recover the balance, nothing else.
They can quite legally still ask you to pay, still report to your credit file, and still offer you a discounted deal.
You can`t report them as they are not doing anything wrong, your best bet is to make it crystal clear to them you are not going to pay, and then they will likely move on and bother someone else instead.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I had similar with PRA, I told them once that I wouldn't be paying and then just ignored them. They kept calling and offering discounts but now they have mostly given up apart from the odd phone call.
It's all part of the game really, they push things as far as they legally can to try and get money out of a dud investment, but with no CCA you can just sit and laugh at them.0
