Has it put any of you off shopping in Boots this year knowing you would be visiting the sales instead?
It hasn't put me off at all. I went to all 3 Christmas nights in my store during November and spent around £570. Still bought several transactions online and instore during the bargain offer time. Got loads of points and already spent my points too.
My reasons to do that though I know that the sale was coming are:
1) I had to buy those stuff -- as Xmas presents and order lists from friends & family aboard -- I'm not originally from UK (esp. No7 big protect & perfect when it was half price).
2) Points offerring for Xmas nights was really a good deal. Not only 1,000 points for £50 spending, I can combine with 350 total spending. And on the third Xmas night shopping I used 3 x 500 points extra that I got from my 1st night shopping. So spent around £50 -- got £20.50 back in points (41% off).:rotfl:
3) From the points offering above, considering of buying 3 for 2 gifts (33.33% off), you can see I still got a good bargain.
E.g. Item is worth £25. Buying 3 paid £50. Got points back £20.50 (200 - normal points, 350 - total spending, 1,000 - offer points, 500 - bonus points). So the 3 items costed me £30 (£10 each - 60% off). But if I buy it during 75%, I will pay £6.25 per each. But this is not guarantee that item I want will be instock or I will be able to grab it. And it was in-time for the season too. One transaction I was able to use my double points voucher too.
I have 4 bargain transactions that Boots gave me points back more than I paid my money to them by mixing the vouchers to maximise accumulate points. One of that was Dreamland offer.
I also had 2 lovely benefit transaction of buying Show Offs! (£12.50 each). It was 3 for 2 and 500 points with 2 Benefit items. So I bought 6 Show offs -- paid £50 - got £23.50 in points back -- around 65% off from RRP (1,500 points - 6 items, 1,000 points - offer points, 500 points - bonus points, 350 points - total spending). This item would not be on sale. At that time, I got a triangle box (that can hang on the tree) for putting 3 Show Offs together, and also asked for Benefit pink gift box too. Did the same like this 2 transactions. Items were given as gifts which the receivers were really please and thought I spent a fortune for them.:rotfl:
4) Online offer during Nov-Dec 07 was full of points offering and discount%. One of my order was 25% off (normal 15% off and code for 10% off). I bought 4 big p+p for that order plus other items. With this offer, from £99 per each was down to £37.13:T :T . As I brought for friends and family, so can't take much profit. Thought I should grab more and put it on ebay.
5) I was tempted to buy and can't resist the bargain.:D

Sorry for this long post. Is there anyone having the same feeling as me?0 -

I didn't quote you ptyks cos it was a long post:rotfl: but I agree ....definitely got some bargains on Xmas shopping nights, like when Ruby and Millie £50 set was half price and 3 4 2 and also shopping online and getting the additional points.
You can still get bargains from Boots even before Xmas.0 -

Were they upstairs rubylou? My sis dragged me around the Prospect centre today - spent a fortune, got soaked, then she dragged me to Kingswood (waste of time lol) but had a great day :rotfl:
Not sure if you spotted the No7 Really Reviving Skin Spritz in the clearance section (or if you even like it
) but it's down to £5
Just after lunch they were restocking some shelves - those penny shover things etc.
Hi Passion

Thanks rubylou
If I can get a lift from sis, I might drag my weary bones around Boots again.
Pamper time now (thanks to the Accessorize), and I need it!
Thanks again ruby, and to all that have posted and given advice. It's made fascinating reading :T xOh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0
