financial adviser

hi all,
I am on the lookout for a financial adviser who is good with pensions, assets split in divorce, etc... can you recommend a decent one from your own experience? TIA

You dont want an FA.     You should be looking at an IFA.    Its an important difference.

Most IFA firms are small, localised firms of 1-5 advisers.    So, asking the internet, which covers the whole country, is a bit like asking us to recommend a fishmonger.    You should be looking in your area (which you do not specify).
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

All IFA's will be experienced with pensions, it is their bread and butter.
They can help with the mechanics of divorce assets splits, but you really need a solicitor to reach an actual agreement with the other side.
  • thank you. I do have a barrister who suggested talking to a fin advisor

    I am in Guildford, Surrey.
    thank you for the correction.
All my docs are online, I don't really need to see an IFA in person, hence the question.

Before all FA’s are made redundant.
Pensionwise are very clear in their advice in getting financial advice from both.
It never hurts to shop around and you can make better choices from multiple sources of information.

...or be utterly confused by conflicting 'information'....
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Have you got a source for that, because it seems utterly bizarre to suggest such a thing.

True but you could get a great return from a FA and a poor one from an IFA. Just wanted to make the point as people could be forgiven for thinking that FA's are the devil on here!
I would always choose the person over the what they may be 'selling' within reason. I think that goes in any walk of life when looking for a service and would always look for more than one option. Even more so if they are going to invest your crown jewels.

Anyway, I have had two Pension Wise appointments and been impressed by their approach in both. I'd really struggle if anyone on here tried picking them apart, especially as their advice is very top line. Highly recommended as a starting point.

But you're not shopping around if you go to an FA.
