Wine decanter, where from and are they worthwhile.

Good morning all.
My husband has his birthday next week and i'm thinking about getting him a wine decanter. Where would be a good place to look please? I'm hoping to pay around £50.
Also are they really worthwhile, ie do they make the wine taste better or are they just for aesthetics? There seems to be many different shaped decanters so im wondering if they can possibly do a job, surely if they worked they would be the same shape?
