Morning again, don't know what the weather's doing, fine I think.
We had a lovely day yesterday, I'd forgotten how nice Corbridge is, for some reason it's years since were there, yet we went to Northumberland often enough.
We had a pleasant walk followed by a pub lunch, then another walk before coming home.
Don't know what today has in store - dh is talking about clearing stuff out of the loft, maybe we could make a start I suppose. He tires easily now though, so I don't know how much we'll get done. Ds was going to do it but he's always busy and we don't want to keep asking.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to the poorly people.
Take care folks.13 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Happy loft clearing!! Another sunny start here but again it's not going to last as more rain is forecast. Surely the reservoir are seeing the benefit a bit now!
Not a lot got done yesterday, by the time the boiler service was done I cba starting anything! Today I must do better! The heated throw I ordered on Wednesday evening was delivered yesterday afternoon. How's that for service! Of course I had to give it a trial run and it's so cosy. I'll take the old one to the caravan and it can see out the end of its life there.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Good morning
A sunny start here after yesterdays heavy rain and thunderstorms. Of course BD picked that time to have an upset stomach. We think it was maybe the thunder stressing him. Lots of soggy towels to sort out today.
Nothing planned for today but will see if OH has any ideas, hes my chauffeur at the moment as I'm not comfortable driving knowing I have cataracts.
Sausages for tea with either mash and veg, or mushrooms tomatoes and peppers.
Have a good day all, take care.8 -
The rain has been hammering down since Wednesday, this morning looks clear so I'll be going out shortly as the weather is forecasted to worsen again over the weekend. I downloaded the new Slow Horses book yesterday and resisted starting it in the house so will listen on the way up to the big town and back. I've a bag of too big clothes to go to the CS so will sort that too.Yesterday I slobbed around, watched GBBO and the Sewing Bee which I'd recorded. Last night I watched Gentlemen prefer Blondes, realised that I'd never seen it before. It was such a delight! We don't have any such actresses or actors these days. This morning I rang my lovely SIL in Australia as it's her birthday today. We had a great chat, especially as her older brother was visiting. He lives in Brazil and I haven't seen him for over 30 years. I reminded my SIL about the tape I sent her of her parents, her two brothers, me, her and my brother at Christmas 1979 when I first visited. We made the tape to send to my parents to tell them of my adventures and the family. During it we adults (not the young brother) are slowly drinking our way through a bottle of Dimple and getting very merry on it. By the second side of the C90 we are singing! Such happy memories.
All parents and my brother now gone so hearing their voices is very evocative.
Right, no more reminiscing, must awa' - hope that all are well, dry and doing fine. Hugs to all.8 -
Good morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons. Hope the loft clearing goes well 😊
That is great service @TravellingAbuela enjoy the coziness. We have a free day today. DH isn’t needed at work so I will see what he wants to do - maybe a day of sloth!! The weather is set to be wet this afternoon so any outdoor tasks will need to be done early. I seem to be sweeping the porch everyday now as the leaves are coming down thick and fast.I need to catch up on Sewing Bee so will do that this evening as DH is out with BFF’s DH.Hope you enjoyed the afternoon theatre trip @IzzyBee - what did you see?
Have a good day everyone

Good morning everyone and thanks for the start Scarlet. We have the same problem with our loft! Sounds like you had a lovely day.TA, I love our heated throws - DH atm because he's not too mobile yet is feeling the chillier weather, & is making good use of ours on the sofa.I am going to catch the early bus from here and onwards to Bury Market, call in the M/s too as we don't have one any more. I got 2 gift cards when it was my birthday so I'll see if there's anything I fancy
It's also our 50th wedding anniversary tomorrow, but obviously with DH knee op 3 weeks ago most plans are on hold, but as he said, the whole year is our 50th. I want to get something nice to eat though.
Right I can hear him moving about so I'll brew up before I go out. Take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning everyone it’s bright here at the minute but we are forecast rain later I’m out volunteering all day but how much I will get done I don’t know I’m still struggling walking but there’s always something I can do shawshank redemption was brilliant yesterday I’ve never seen the film but hubby has standing ovation at the end I would recommend it to anyone who gets the chance to see it acting was fantastic. I have one of those throws TA darent plug it in now because the dog claimed it has hers and it’s got a couple of holes in I might treat myself to a new one as they do make a difference warm and cosy pleased you had a good day out scarlet . Remmie I sometimes think it’s a blessing my dog is now deaf it was a nightmare when it thundered and don’t mention fireworks. Gers it’s nice to have a day of doing nothing enjoy your new book . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning everyone
Nice bright morning here but chilly when I let the cats out, I've had my breakfast in the living room where it's sunny and therefore warmer.
Some jobs to do this morning then I'll go down to mam and dads for a cuppa and check their bank, then down to work.
Little one is still at the play therapist on a Friday afternoon until the half term holidays, but DD has arranged it so she has the morning at school before they leave. She'll drop her off with me when they get home later, she'll be here till Sunday afternoon so looking forward to that. She has a party invitation for Sunday so I'll take her to that, I'll have to stay in case her sugars drop.
I did some more of the Pip forms last night but they are now tidied away till after the weekend, I have until Thursday at the latest to post them.
Izzy I'm envious of your trip to the theatre, I haven't been for a while now.
I haven't got a heated throw but I did remember last night that I need a new electric blanket, mine wasn't heating properly at the end of last winter.
Right best move, hope everyone has a good day x8 -
Morning allHeated throw reminds me I must find mine. Will probably need it soon. Really wet yesterday, not so much today.Back from shopping, nothing else planned.Izzy I thought you were supposed to rest your foot, make sure you get a sitting down job to do at your volunteering today!Have a good day all x8

Morning all, thank you @Scarlet for today's start. It looks like a rinse & repeat day of weather today - a sunny morning, rain in the afternoon (with the occasional rumble of thunder thrown into the mix), fine again, then more rain. Top temps of just 16 deg and single figures overnight. Brr.
Apart from the usual Friday admin, I don't have any plans for today, although I wouldn't mind a walk to the Co-op but that all depends on the weather. If not today, then perhaps tomorrow. I only want three things and none of them is urgent, it's more for a bit of exercise and fresh air! I haven't been able to report the dodgy heating timer button online so will have to make a phone request. It's a pretty good online system but doesn't have a "miscellaneous" category for repairs that aren't on their drop down list; I don't suppose they can list every eventuality though. The freezer has yielded a piece of fresh fish for tea (cod or basa, not sure) that I'll dip in seasoned flour and fry lightly in butter, nice and simple. It has, however, been replaced by a portion of last night's chicken supreme & rice - no wonder it takes an eternity to run down the freezer contents!
@Scarlet - Good luck with the loft clearance. Like you, I don't like to ask DS for help too often; he's always willing but I don't want to monopolise his time nor do I want to become reliant on others before I have to.
@TA - I know what you mean about cba after the boiler service but glad to hear it's done and dusted with for another year. Good idea to take the old heated throw to the van - at this rate you might need it when you next go at the end of the month!
@Gers - Happy memories indeed.
@Rosy - I love your DH's thoughts that the whole year is your 50th, not just the one day.
@Izzy - I'm echoing @Chrisca's comment - you're supposed to be resting! (Insert wagging finger emoji here!)
Have a good end of week day, thoughts with the poorlies and their loved ones/carers, hugs where needed or wanted. Take care, stay safe. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7
