Soft seaches by Lendable, not instigated by me.

Good morning to you all,
I had two accounts with Lendable. They were both defaulted in March 2025. I have heard nothing since from Lendable, other than emails each month asking me to reinstate my DD, which I believe are computer generated.
Credit Karma has just notified me of some ‘soft searches’ on my credit file. Upon investigation, I found that two searches had been carried out. They were labelled as quotation searches.
Might I hazard a guess that this may be something to do with them selling the debts on?
Thank you.

Or just an ID check to ensure you are still living at the address they have on file1

Have you been looking at loans as this will appear as part of a comparison search.I have Dyslexia which is a learning difficulty that primarily affects the skills involved in accurate and fluent word reading and spelling so some post may not make sense.0

Lendable also owns two expensive credit card brands, Zable and Thimbl. You haven't applied for either of those?0

I owe Lendable money; I have two defaults with them so I can't imagine they would lend me money anyway...0 -

Thank you all for your replies.
As previously stated, I haven’t made any applications or even undertaken 'eligibility' checks for credit.
However, I refer to the comment by @ManyWays whereby Lendable’s own credit cards were mentioned.
Completely out of the blue today, I received a text message stating that ‘I had been pre-approved for a Zable credit card…'
Looks like that answers my query as to why credit checks may have been undertaken.

Oh! That is shocking, even from a bad credit lender like Lendable.
I asked as I thought you may have applied (it would have been a dreadful idea, but sometimes people make poor choices.) I have never heard of this nasty variation.
I suggest you make an affordability complaint to Lendable about the loan, if you havent already.1
