Understanding fund timing and pricing

The large majority do not trade, or try and second guess market moves. The large majority of say people with a DC pension would not know what an ETF was if they fell over it.dont_use_vistaprint said:I don’t understand the comment about the ETF version being in real time so there is a ETF version of vanguard’s VLS100 that you can buy and sell in real time for £3.99 per trade , If so, why isn’t everyone doing this it’s constantly going cheap and then making a new all-time high
However if you are investing say once a month with your pension contribution for 25 years, it would make no difference to the end result if it were an ETF or an OEIC, ( assuming they were otherwise the same investment profile and the same cost) as any short term differences would even out over time.
In any case if buying stocks low, assuming they will go high again was that easy we would all be billionaires.
For every winner in a trade, there has to be a loser.0
