Good morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
We went to Ramsgate and Sandwich yesterday in the glorious sunshine. Lovely day exploring the railway tunnels in Ramsgate and there was a miniature railway enthusiast’s meet up too. Sandwich was so quaint - not been there before and will definitely go back when the shops are open. There was a large church that had been repurposed into a craft/charity space with many lovely things. I just bought a book but would have spent more if they weren’t about to close!
Didn’t wake up until 6am today so hoping I’m now back on track.I’ve a few errands to run to this morning then will crack on with plum prep as that didn’t get done yesterday.Definitely have another week at the van if you can TravellingAbuela
My DSis also enjoyed the exhibition @camelot1001 but found the photo booths hilarious!Hope you can get to see your doc about your foot @IzzyBee it sounds so painful x
Tea is some sort of chicken - maybe marinaded - with salad-y bits.Have a good day all

Good morning, thanks Gers.
It's fine here, though seems to have rained overnight.
The trees are starting to change already, it's the dry summer I suppose. There's lots of crispy golden leaves lying around. Autumn is coming early.
Had a quiet day yesterday just pottering.
Sorry to see you're on such pain Izzy, sounds agonising. Hope it eases off.
This morning I'm meeting an ex work colleague for coffee, and that's about it
Have another week in the van TA, you often get some nice days at this time of year.. Some years our last trip of the year would be to a site in Slingsby, N Yorks, lovely countryside. Happy days.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.11 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Sounds like a good day out Coxy, glad your sleep pattern is returning.
Hope you get a doctor's appointment Izzy, that sounds really painful.
Spent yesterday getting the chores done, spent ages at the allotment, only myself and one other turned up for the committee meeting so it didn't really go ahead but I got a lot done. Also met a friend from years ago who was there with her brother so nice to catch up. Went and bought some rubbish to go with the little one's birthday present, spoke with DS2 about their visit later this week and did a pile of school work so a very productive Sunday.
We have the photographer this morning at school just to add to the mayhem but at least it will be out of the way.
Hope everyone is well, take care. XX10 -
Morning allSunny this morning. Did anyone see the moon eclipse last night? We didn't get to see it as there were houses and trees in the way but there it was this morning in full view, typical!I have some bedding to take to the charity shop today and DH sorted some clothes out for me to take too. I'll have a look round at the shops while I'm there. Could do with a new pedestal mat for the downstairs loo so will see what they've got. Nothing else going on today.Hope you get to see the doc Izzy. Sounds very painful.Have a good day all x11

Back - I've been away for a couple of days in Glasgow visiting various friends, having a bit of wine, great chat and food. One of the friends has booked tickets for the Tutankhamun Experience, so your own experience was interesting @Camelot. Photos of you as an Egyptian?@Izzy - I hope that the docs can help this time, it's sound so painful. @mehefin- a date? Brilliant! My fingers are crossed for you and your new friend.Lots to do today not least my exercise class. The woman whose iPad she declared dead has revived in my tender care, by that I mean I plugged it and and left it over the weekend. Now it's fully charged. I've backed it up so, with a fair wind and a bit of luck, it should now zoom over all the info to the new one. We'll see.Hugs to all - xx11

Morning all from a soggyish Mehefinland - although sunny now!!
Didn't see the lunar light sow last night as we were covered in cloud - there was a sort of glow in the sky but not enough to make anything out. Not particularly disappointed as there's another one next year apparently.
Torrential down pour late evening too!
I think this year's crop of pumpkins off the muckheap may be in 2 phases. There are a number of smaller ones which are ripe and bright orange - but lurking in the back are some big beggars which are still green and growing well. They were all grown for seed from a previous years crop by my little friend - 4 plants produce an awful lot of fruit when the nutrients are right- if it had been a wetter summer they would have been massive.
Got an M&S voucher which needs using - will have to wander into the nearest outlet and have a gander. I know I could do it on line but I like to see what I'm buying. Maybe later.
Date update for Gers and anyone else interested- went well - planning to meet again this week. Bulletin ends .
Grass needs cutting - first time in months , so hugs and spoons as always.
Mehefin aka Derek

Good morning ☺️
The sun is shining today. Hoping for no downpours - we got caught in one on a hike yesterday - as I have put sone washing out.
I have been busy in the kitchen. There was a fair bit of vegetables which needed using, so I have made an apple, carrot and parsnip soup; honey roasted carrots and parsnips; fried cabbage and onions; red onion and red pepper cous cous.
I am having mushroom biryani for dinner, and I am marinating some chicken breasts in a tomato and sriracha jam for the meat eaters, which they can have with either the cous cous, or some sweet chilli noodles.
The only thing I need to think about now, which needs using, is a tub full of sugar snap peas. I might roast them in some salt, pepper, and garlic 🤔
Fingers crossed you've managed to get a doctor's appointment @IzzyBee. Plantar fasciitis can be really painful.
Hope you all have a good day ☺️9 -
Morning everyone
I've put washing in the machine because the forecast says it will be sunny all day, but now it's raining. I will see what it's doing before I go to work.
Izzy - another one hoping you get a doctors appointment.
I took little one to the library on Saturday afternoon so she could get her certificate and medal for completing the summer reading challenge, Once home she started on a Japanese colouring book eldest DD had bought for her when she was in Japan...she was so excited to discover she can colour 'in Japanese' ...actually so
can I ! She also has a German activity book to do I bought her.
She told me all about her first few days back at school and I got her opinion on her new teacher, she thinks she's lovely though a bit strict about tidying - I said 'well make sure you're tidying then.'
She's very happy because she doesn't need any medication at school now...her blood sugar alarm can still go off so she still needs her finger pricks and to carry her phone with her all the time, but other than that 'I'm just the same as everyone else granny.' She was so happy about it....it's amazing how much she's come on over the past year.
Yesterday morning we went down to mam and dads and then spent the afternoon playing board games till she went home just before tea,...a lovely lazy afternoon.
Right I'd best get on, I have Saturday's ironing to do because I'd rather play and I have PIP forms to start. I've decided to try again and hopefully this time I'll be successful.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Good morning all, thanks @Gers for the start. Sounds like you had a good weekend away, fingers crossed the iPad revives as it should after your ministrations!
Today is set to be fine and sunny (maybe a rogue shower this afternoon) with light winds but it's much cooler, especially overnight with single figure temperatures. The trees are now showing their autumn colours and starting to shed leaves.
I didn't see the blood moon last night as it was too cloudy here but never mind, there's always next year. Nor did I get the emergency message in the afternoon but I'm still using an old mobile rather than a smart one so that was expected. I sent a grocery order for delivery tomorrow, not made any easier by the number of out of stock items. That, coupled with the ones I've marked as not wanting subs for, could result in a very small delivery indeed!
Today's jobs include getting rid of the cobwebs on the ceiling in the very high stairwell. My devised method is to tape the handle of the feather duster to the end of DH's pool cue and wave it about like a mad woman to trap the little blighters. Crazy, but effective.I also need to ring the GP surgery to find out why they've sent a text asking me to make an appointment for an annual health review when I had one last month plus a follow-up appointment for the results. It being Monday, that call could well be postponed until tomorrow when the phone lines should be less busy. Tea tonight is bacon (needs using up) with beans and oven chips.
@Coxy - Glad you had a better night's sleep after your day out, it sounds delightful.
@camelot - Have fun with the school photographer!
@Rosy - I'm not a fan of hemming tape but will admit it's useful when you're time-poor. I don't have that excuse anymore!
@dp1 - So lovely to hear of LO's progress and that she now feels like everyone else. Good luck with the PIP forms.
Right, the cobweb cull is looming so I'll get on with that and wish everyone a good start to the new week. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Hi everyone,
We're still with the family in Bristol but planning to leave at some point today. Progress has been made with the chaos. I've sorted the kitchen as much as possible although it desperately needs updating but that will have to wait until they get some more money together.
Esben has settled in pretty well at his new school although Laura has teacher envy as the teacher in the parallel class seems much more dynamic.
Esther too has settled really well at nursery, after screaming on being left the first day she spent the weekend asking if she could go to nursery. It's a relief because it took 18 months before she stopped crying on being left at her old nursery.
Anyway, enough waffle... Izzy I hope you get seen today. Mehefin, good on you. Dp1, lovely to hear little one is getting on so well.
Have a good day.12
