Morning all,
A busy brain saw me awake at just before 4am so I’ve relented and am having a cuppa. Today will probably see me flagging again mid-afternoon.

I cleared the ironing pile yesterday, did two wash loads and hand-raked the leaves from the lawn which took about 2 hours. All this before DH arrived home from his overnight stay at a friend’s house. He helped with the last half hour or so. We had DSis and BIL for tea last night and they gifted us about 100 plums from their garden so I need to sort those out today. Any plum recipes anyone??
The weather is set to be nicer than we thought so we may head to the coast for a walk later. Tea is yet to be christened but we’ve plenty in courtesy of the food delivery yesterday.
Pleased to hear the date went well Derek x
Hope your migraine eased @dp1 and you had a good day with DGD x

Morning folks and thanks COXY for the early start! Calm and still this morning but showers may happen later they say.
I've not posted for a few days as each day much the same at the caravan. Bird and wildlife spotting, much reading and being extremely slothful! Today I must stir myself and pack stuff then have a clean round as DD is coming this afternoon and we are off out for tea at a lovely pub. Booked for 5 ish. Then it's homeward bound early tomorrow morning and RL will resume. I am dithering as to whether to take home all my stuff that lives here through the summer or leave it and have another week here towards the end of the month. Decisions decisions!
Have a lovely day folks if you can and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning Coxy, and all to follow -I' m fuming because I've just lost quite a long post. I hit my elbow off the arm of the sofa and if course touched a wrong button. This tablet that I'm posting on is annoying anyway, it changes things e.g. I just said in my post I'd been to Morries yesterday and it changed it to 'lorries'. Wonder if looking in the settings will give me any help.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to Izzy and Dp1, hope you soon feel better.
Glad the date went well Mehefin.
Take care folks.12 -
Morning allLooks to be another lovely day today but it'll be spoilt by strong gusts of wind later.Forgot to do online shop earlier in the week for today so instead of getting it out of the way with a morning delivery as usual the only slot available was late this afternoon. It's due to arrive around the time the Govt alert system is going off at 3pm so hope I don't jump out of my skin!Nothing else going on today so hope everyone has a good day xx11

Good morning
Thank you for the start @Coxy11
@Izzy and @dp1 hope you're feeling better.
@mehefin pleased your date went well.
Sunny here so I'll try and get a few jobs done in the garden. Picked quite a few tomatoes and cucumbers yesterday. So I'll have salad again tonight.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning All
Dull and breezy this morning with rain due later. Yesterday turned into a lovely day so all the washing was dry when I got home, nothing to iron so it was all folded and put away.
The Tutankhamun experience was ok yesterday, better than I thought it would be with lots of screens and VR things (very weird). Best thing was the booths where you could have your photo taken to look like an Egyptian, very funny and kept us entertained for far longer than it should have done! Walked back across the bridge and had a very nice lunch, didn't get home until 5. I think it did me the world of good not thinking or doing anything to do with work.
Talking of work, must do some this afternoon once I've been to a committee meeting for allotment 2 and done a bit of shopping for the little one's birthday next week. I've made up the bed for DS2 and his DP's arrival on Friday, will give the room a good clean later.
I think your jet lag is still lingering Coxy!
Have another week at the caravan TA, it'll be a long winter.
Glad your meet up went well Mehefin.
Grrr to the lost post Scarlet.
Hope the poorlies are feeling better today and you all have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX10 -
Morning everyone it’s a dull day I thought it was supposed to be nice enjoy your walk Coxy I won’t be going anywhere my foot is no better I’m going to try and get in the doctors tomorrow not that they will do anything about this plantar fasciitis I’ve been before and had physio nothing seems to work but I’m supposed to wear support stockings which I mostly do except when it’s to hot but my ankles are swelling more and more and when I was talking to one of my neighbours yesterday she was shocked at how swollen they were and said I really needed a doctor to look at them I told you all I was dropping to bits so it will be another day of rest . I’ve got two hours of free electricity today so I will put the washer on no doubt something will want charging and I will cook the meat I could be doing lots of other things but I can’t be bothered I will see how the day goes .TA gett another week in at the caravan you will be glad of it when we get to long dark January SO you have done well with your salad crop I haven’t got a green house but I have had some plants on a sunny wall I have had one cucumber lots of strawberries and a good amount of tomatoes so I haven’t done to bad and of course they have been delicious. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7

Morning all and thanks @Coxy for the (very early!) start - if you do go for a walk at the coast, it will hopefully help you sleep better tonight. Sea air always knocks me out.
The weather seems to have settled into a predictable pattern - fine in the morning and evening with rain in the afternoon, breezier too. Top daytime temps could get up to 22 deg. And we have a blood-red moon to look forward to tonight, providing the skies are clear. I've had a leisurely start to the day with a bacon & tomato bap; if I'm honest I could have eaten two but I resisted - that would have been be a bit piggy! Pardon the (unintended) pun.
My parcel arrived yesterday and I've already road-tested the slipper boots that I'll wear in the evenings - very cosy. The PJ bottoms are, as expected, too long and I'll shorten those asap. The trousers are also too long but fit well on the waist/hips and the jersey fabric has a good drape to it so I'll keep them. Sadly, they don't come in a shorter length, otherwise I'd have returned them for an exchange. Just glad I can sew! Tea tonight is sausage, mixed veg, baby potatoes and gravy.
@TA - Nice to hear from you, enjoy your pub meal tonight before returning to RL.
@camelot - Work/life balance isn't easy to achieve so I'm glad you feel your excursion yesterday helped.
@Izzy - Oh dear, what are we going to do with you? I have my fingers crossed you can get a GP appointment asap - in the meantime, get those legs up and rested!
Nothing else of interest to say so I'll spare you any more of my waffling. Enjoy what's left of the weekend and take care. Hugs available where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.5 -
I was going to say good morning, and then looked at the clock.! Another one that ran away from me...what with going upstairs seeing DH was ok ( he felt a bit off yesterday), taking drinks up to him, walking Ldog in the hope of tiring him out
and hoovering I'm shattered already
Thanks @Coxy11 , hope you sleep better tonight..
Have another week TAThanks for the reminder @Chrisca50 - I didn't know what time the alarm was.
@silver-oldie , nice to have such lovely fresh salad@Camelot, the trip sounds interesting.Hop your feet get better soon @IzzyBee@YorksLass , I often have to shorten stuff too. Although I can sew ,sometimes I cheat and use that hemming tape!Enjoyed our tea last night after the match, although I added extra sauce and mushrooms to the sparse meatballs as once it was thawed out there wasn't really enough for 3 of us. Roast lamb dinner tonight, burger for DS. I'm going to make an apple & blackberry crumble today for later. I gave a couple up the road some of my frozen blackberries as she hadn't had chance to pick any this year.Right hope you all have a good rest of the day:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
