Reclaiming work expenses a year and a half later

I recently came across a receipt for a stay at a hotel I had while working as a consultant for a computer company. Sadly I was fired shortly afterwards and neglected to make the claim.

This was in August 2006, rather a lot of time has passed since then obviously and I'm not sure if the company is under any requirement to pay me the money from the claim. It totals £100 which would be very useful to me as a somewhat impoverished student.

So far I've sent them an email politely asking if they could pay me the money if I post them the receipt and itemised invoice that the hotel gave me when I checked out.

Is there any advice anyone can give me as to how I could handle this and anyone who knows a bit about the law in this area and could tell me if I'm entitled to this or if I'm requesting a good-will gesture?

Thanks in advance and apologies if I've posted this in the wrong section.

If there is no company policy in place, then the statute of limitations may apply, and this would mean that you could still claim it.

However, I agree with poppy_f1, most companies will have a time limit on when claims can be submitted. My last employer had a two month time limit, or in extenuating circumstances (which were few and far between), the claim would have to be submitted in the same financial year.
    Gone ... or have I?
