Same thing happened to me on my Hotmail account on the same day, no idea how they did it. I've changed my password and deleted all stored emails. No further problems, but quite unsettling.

Just out of interest what were your old passwords?
    Were they easily guessed?
Since you've changed them I'd be very interested.

    Thanks

Used to happen to me all the time. The hackers sent you an email which, when you opened it, gives them your password. Dont know how it works, but it does. Just be more careful when opening emails from people you dont know.

A great " Shopping Tip "....

Can a Mod move this ?
  • 1. No my password was a very unusual one, not easily guessed or worked out.

    2. I don't open any email unless I know who it is from, and even then don't open any attachments unless virus scanned, so I am sceptical that this has been hacked via a bogus email, but I suppose all things are possible.

I'm a little surprised that googling 'onestopebay', does not bring up many responses if this is a common problem?

Maybe your account hasn't been hacked but someone is sending email but putting your address down as where it came from. This is a very simple thing to do.

I could send an email that looked as though it came from you and you would get any replies (or they could be sent elsewhere) without using your email account.

How would you access my address book though, and send the email to everyone in it?
