Options
Can anybody help me? On our christmas girls works night out we arranged the next time we met for a few drinks we would be dressed as Bubbles Devere -and i not being able to keep my big mouth shut then said not only would i be wearing the costume i would make it myself!!!!which i now must do 1.a bets a abet
2.i'm skint ,and any spare money would be enjoyed more in our wine kitty rather than on costume hire,
now it is round one of our houses so its not got to be mega professional, but i'd like it to look half decent, its the body suit i'm a bit stuck on at the mo,i have got a sewing machine ,the only idea i've got at the moment is -i've got an old quilt and didn't know if i cound make a body shape and attatch it to an old pink sheet-like quilted pjamas-if anyone has any ideas that would be great, ive got this weekend spare to make it ready for next friday-

All I could think of is a pink sheet (you draw on the rude bits hehe) and pillows, cushions stuffed under it to make u look heavier lol.

Or to give u some ideas there is an inflatable sumo costume:

Or here is the official bubbles costume to give u some inspiration (not too rude of a pic don't worry folks):

You could always just go cheap and stuff pillows under a towel lol.

Good luck and i'd love to see the finished costume lol!

What about padding out legs and arms and covering with flesh / tan coloured tights. Using a bath towel as you beauty boob tube. Then all you need is boobs, belly, wig and a fig leaf. Could you borrow a flesh/ nude bra and stuff? pillow for belly. Someone must have a wig? or maybe a feather boa just to overdo the look.
Hope you have a great time
  • How about pink sheet(s) filled with those polystyrene beads - last time I looked you could get them in Wilkinsons (and you could make yourself a beanbag afterwards). Just hope you don't make it so well that the guests throw up! Just imagine being that size and so lacking in scruples - not great!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare
  • If you get really stuck Smiffy's stock a good one and its not that expensive either, less than a good bottle of plonk.
Did you know you can get Viagra software now??? Yeah, it turns your floppy drive into a hard drive :D

Well I would win hands down - cos me and Bubbles in the all-together are virtually twins !!!

Well, I've not got the tan, nor the hair-do, but everything else looks scarily familiar :D
Everytime I watch 'her' on LB, I swear I'll join a gym ;)
  • If you want to be able to do the Bubbles strip then this guide won't be any good for you:

I made my Bubbles suit using:

8 Pairs of tights (cheap ones work(I used Smart Price), you could use less if you used Opaque ones)
    Towel
Filling (I used the inside of a quilt)
    Costume Jewellery (Bracelets and Necklace)

First I put two pairs of tights together (one on top of the other) and stuffed it with filling to look like arms (think Bingo wings), you can sew a few bits in place if you need to. Two more pairs over this will make it look more opaque. This will go over your head so it needs a hole in the crotch. Cut the hole and sew it making sure you go through all four pairs. You need to cut holes for your hands too. I had a two holes in the feet for each hand so that I could slip my thumb through (this will stop it riding up your arm).

The legs are made in a similar way, but you don't need them to go too far down so concentrate on pulling them up to make a bigger belly, you can cut off the feet if you need to, but remember to sew them up. I had to use straps to keep the tights up over my shoulders. Sew these across the top of the tights, you could add extra packing using pillows stuffed into another pair of tights if you needed.

The towel should be elasticated so that it won't fall down (hence you can't do bubbles strip!). Sew a piece of elastic onto one side

When dressing put the legs on first so you can strap them over your shoulders, then the arms, the towel, and finally the jewellery will be used to hide the bits you sewed.

Hope you can understand how I've wrote this. And remember that your costume will probable make you very hot, drink lots (but don't get too tipsy or you might do the strip for real!)!
  • thanks for your help everyone,i'm going to get busy sewing
