Morning @Gers - thanks for the start. Despite going to bed at midnight I’ve been wide awake since 4:15am. Washing on the go!!Yesterday was a busy day of cleaning every inch of carpet to eradicate Squirrel Nutkin's destruction. Yes it was pretty gross finding that - I nearly trod on him 😭 The water was black so clearly the carpets hadn’t been done for a while. The house smelled like damp dog so windows were opened and a scented candle was lit. Will double check today that all stains have gone before returning the machine. £50 well spent.DH is off today and we need to pop out to buy a gift for MIL whose birthday is tomorrow. I’m then at a WI committee meeting tonight in my old location.Did a food shop at A!di yesterday with DS2 and have ordered an 0cado delivery for Saturday to take advantage of a 15% discount code. Will stock up the new freezer with meat so will only need a few fresh bits for next week. I froze a load of allotment veg before the holiday so will use that too.Well done on the painting @mehefin it will look great once finished but can understand the pain involved in the doing!!
Happy Birthday to DGS @nannywindow
That’s awful about the road closure/diversion @Gers are they any further along with the tunnel progress?
Have a good day all

Good morning
Dull and overcast outside, forecast is for showers later.
Opticians appointment this morning, will have a mooch around the nearby chazzers after. Not sure what's for tea, will see what we want when I get in.
Nothing else to report, so have a good day all, take care.11 -
Morning, thanks Gers.
Welcome back Coxy, you've had a busy time though, hope you've managed to remove all traces of the squirrel.
I'm a bit later than usual this morning, haven't had too bad a night by my standards. Hope your hearing test goes well Chrisca.
YorksLass, so you're another apple! I am as well. Makes it difficult getting trousers though doesn't it, I have exactly the same problems as you! I've seriously considered trying mens/ boys jeans, but never have. The shape of them would be better I think.
Yesterday was ok, nowt much planned for today. Hope the holiday makers and the house painters are doing well, and that everyone else is plodding along ok.
Take care folks.

Morning All
Not very promising out this morning, washing on the pulley.
Goodness Coxy, what a gift to come back to! Good idea to hire the carpet cleaner.
Didn't stop at work yesterday, I seem to be the head gardener too. I was changing plants in pots with the help of some of the children - one of them was 'helping' and filled my shoes and socks with compost! Good job I had a pair of flip flops under my desk. More to do today if the weather stays fine.
Sounds like you're making good progress with the painting Mehefin, that's a horrible job but will look really good when you're done.
A 60 mile diversion again Gers? I think you will be better off going up country rather than down. Do the buses have to do the same?
Hope the holidaymakers are having fun and avoiding the raindrops. Take care. XX12 -
Morning everyone thanks for the start Gers it’s bright here this morning we went out with the dogs yesterday I had a shower proof coat on we got caught in what you can only describe as more than a shower I had to come in and peel everything off talk about soaked to the skin it was torrential. Coxy my heart goes out to you i couldn’t have faced that . I’m off out to a cleaning job this morning then I’m going straight on to another one it’s the man that is poorly he’s been in hospital all weekend but he’s coming home this afternoon so I’m doing the cleaning today instead of Thursday I will get his bed pulled out and cleaned properly underneath while I can I honestly don’t know how he’s still here but he is but he does not want to be in hospital he wants to be home . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Morning all. Dry and sunny here so far but I doubt it will last.
Change of plan today as I'm now going over to DD's from 11am to do childcare. DH is taking his car to the garage this morning so will stay home. Have swapped our evening meals around as I doubt I'll feel like doing much cooking when I get back.
Poor you Coxy; not what you want at any time, let alone after a lovely holiday. I can't imagine the destruction and mess so well done for tackling it.
I've put a small load of washing on as we're away in Dorset from Friday and I'll need to make a cake to take with me so won't have the time or energy to do much else.
Have fun everyone and hope the weather is what you want. Definitely shades of autumn here.12 -
I've been out to collect my meds from the vending machine, the rain started as I got in my car and stopped when I arrived back home - feel got at!
We had more torrential rain overnight so it's not looking good for today.
Yes, a very long diversion not made better by all the extra traffic - and the road company found 11 landslides within a three kilometre stretch of the Rest, all in new places, a new one later in the day means that we now can't access the ferries in Dunoon to avoid the diversion.i won't rant but....
The lady who's iPad I was to set up yesterday didn't know her email password or Apple account one so I'm going to her house later this morning as she's found 'the piece of paper' with them on. Shouldn't take me long. When I was up there for my class I bought some local honey from the honesty box. I don't like honey (bee vomit) but take some in the winter when I have a cold / cough. Local honey is meant to be better, we'll see. That's nasty @Coxy, glad that it's cleared up now. Must off for coffee, hope that all are doing well and that hospital appointments go smoothly. Hugs to all10 -
Good morning ☺️
Washing is blowing on the line, but rain is forecast for this afternoon. Hoping it will mostly dry by then.
I will be going to the Local Pantry shortly, but not to the social event afterwards, as I have some things to sort out, today.
Dinner tonight, is crispy duck with dauphinoise, broccoli, and red wine sauce, and I am having a fava bean and fennel stew with pot barley, which is in the slow cooker.
Hope you all have a good day ☺️9 -
Hello all, we have rain, rain and more rain with a yellow warning for more of the stuff today, I find it very cool too as it's only 13 degrees now.
All tasks done yesterday and we managed to miss the rain. The birthday celebration was lovely and the food very good, the cake was chocolate and pistachio, a new flavour for me. DGS graciously shared his birthday with Mr Fix It as it's his 70th next week when we are away.
I didn't have much sleep last night so I'm on a go slow today, never mind I'm only doing some cleaning, maybe it will be a nanna nap later. Why do we have the compulsion to have everything spick and span before we go on holiday, or maybe it's just me.
Hope everyone can have a nice day today. Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9
