Definitely Tesco used to do the best meal-deal when you used your Clubcard. However, they've increased the Clubcard price from £3.60 to £3.85, which isn't quite so good. Either way, I always price up my items, pick the most expensive for my tastes, and can easily get to £7.55 shelf-price spent before the deductions occur. (E.g. Innocent smoothie £2.55, Sandwich £3.60, Kind nut bar £1.40.)

It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!

I buy a loaf, some hame and make my own sandwiches for lunch. Never drink the gassy soda and the junk food, kleave it on the shelf!I work from home so my cat can be fed on demand!6

I think Tesco is hard to beat although it isn’t always obvious what can be included. Our local Tesco express go out of their way to explain options such as hot drinks and bakery items as well as fruit and savoury snacks.

Tesco is hatd to beat if you have a clubcard but I recently bought a Sainsbury's meal deal at £3.95 and it was excellent. It was at a large branch and included sides from the bakery such as pain au raisin and almond croissant. Will definitely buy from them again.0

The only way I've been able to work out what drinks it specifically allows is through trial and error - spoiler alert: it is only regular sized standard drinks (e.g. not Seasonal things like Pumpkin Spice Latte).
I don't understand the logic of including it in the meal deal if you're not going to communicate the fact. If they don't want to include it, then they don't have to.
I find the Tesco meal deal is the best though Sainsburys is as good, however I'm ultimately influenced by whichever has a Costa machine (you can collect beans from it also!).Know what you don't0 -
Tends to be more about convenience if anything. We're next to an Amazon Fresh so that tends to be it most the time.0

I usually just buy a cooked meal at the restaurant in my work. I get free filtered & chilled tap water which negates buying bottled water too.0

People saying Waitrose clearly don't enjoy snacks. Less selection than my home cupboard. Also, unless you want a rubber sandwhich for lunch, all fairly decent meal 'deals' aren't even worth getting for a cheap lunch anymore. If I want something quick and cheapish, I usually just head to subway (although this is becoming a rip off too now).

HOWEVER......EVERY time I have purchased a meal deal from Tesco it never goes through till as a meal deal.
On one occasion, staff checked when I queried. It turned out I had chosen the "wrong size" peanut bar !!
Staff said my responsibility to check. I pointed out
1- I actually couldn't reach the top shelf to read the sign.
2- there were 6 boxes of same product on top shelf marked meal deal.
3 labelling is confusing & misleading
I am convinced that Tesco rely on ppl rushing through the tills & not checking the receipt as in a hurry. They must make millions on this !
I put the meal deal back & won't use Tesco again

I vote for Morrisons where a pick your own salad bar box is included in the deal. D H and I have pretty much maxed out the amount we can fit in - one box pretty much does the two of us for a meal!0
