Santander repossession

Due to a very complicated set of circumstances we had our house repossessed, I had been very stupid and deceitful and my wife was completely unaware of the whole situation till the day of the repossession. To cut a long story short we challenged the repossession using solicitors and a few weeks later were told if we pay the arrears in full the mortgage could be restarted, Santander have now said this is no longer the case and all my hopes of getting the house back have been dashed. I have complained to Santander and that process is starting. In the meantime is there anyone out there who can suggest any other way of getting the house back through refinancing in some way.
House is worth £450k outstanding mortgage is £75k arrears are £60k(which we can pay back thanks to a family member)
As you can imagine I am desperate to find out if there are any other options out there to avoid losing the family home

£60k isnt far off the full balance, would they be more amenable if you offered to clear the whole thing?

    Speak to a broker.
There will be a lender who can do £25-50k I reckon. Rates wont be pretty but on £25-50k it wont matter too much I dont think.

Fair play to your Mrs if she has stuck by you! You have a good'en there!

    Edit:
Actually, just thinking about this in another way. If your relative was to put a charge on your house, it might open up other options. I think this can be done. Keep the communication open with Santander and hopefully they will give you a bit of time.

So is that £60K arrears on top of the outstanding balance?
    So you still owe £135K?

TBH, given the arrears I think you will struggle to find any lender, even at very high interest rates. As that is a very long term of missed payments.

I was assuming £60k arrears with a remaining balance of 75k overall, but maybe he or she needs to clarify.

    Ah ok, sorry I mis-read.
It should still be possible I think. But speak to a broker. I think there will be a way given the numbers involved but it might be expensive for a couple of years.
