Hi

It does work online if you reserve only the original item (two pack games). If you then go to collect them and pay at the till, you should be told to pick another game free from a list that comes up on till screen.
I have just been to collect my reserved items and chose the Memory Game (£9.99) as my free item!!
Hope this helps. :jIf at first you don't succeed ........

Worked for me too thanks OP - bought 2 sets today. I didn't know much about the games and wish I'd chosen the memory game, but I chose two others - a penguin one and a hungry dog one I think.
Anyway, having 2 young kiddos who are always going to one party or another, I've started stockpiling presents when they're on sale. I reckon if I get any particular item for £1.50 - £2 then I'm winning. Last year, whenever there was a party there was a last minute rush to buy a gift - usually costing between £5 - £10.
In the last 30 days, I've stockpiled presents from amazon, some decent stuff from the 99p shop*, and now 6 great games from argos. Amazon have ratatouille toys for between £1 and £2 at the moment. I also got bratz stuff for pennies on the usual pound, but I think the cheapest price is gone now.
* They have these cute remote control cars atm - we tested one and it works. The remote is connected to the car, but in my opinion this isn't a bad thing. We have a few RC toys which have got separated from their remotes..... Also they have sets of friction cars. They also have absolutely lovely story books for babies & toddlers (2 in my close family) with sound effects and stuff.0 -
I paid at the auto till and it didnt work. Decided those 2 games for £3.49 where pretty good though so went ahead with them.....0

I think you have to go to a teller who informs you of the free games you can get. Don't go to a self service desk.0
