Ok, I'll be good.
I had a lovely morning with friends playing table tennis.
Then I found a beautiful crystal glass sundae dish for my puddings for one 20p!
I found a painted pine little table just right for my garden cosy nook, will take a tray of tea and cake £20.
Then a man helped me get garden detritus up the steps into the skip. I have a painful hip.
Followed by a swim with the pool mostly to myself .
Looking for Smarties in Poundland I found a pessel and mortar for £2. I've been needing one.
So one of those days that is really cheery. 🙂
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

Lying in the bath with the shower over me - some could say this is expensive but it works out cheaper then going on holiday or spa days and feels lovely!
Missions for the rest of the year:-
1) Build up an emergency fund (EF)
2) Improve spending habits.
3) Create a budget that is compatible to me.
4) Buy healthier snacks to avoid junk food splurges.1 -
#22 - nurturing a pollinator garden (free - variable outlay, depending on taste)
#23 - enjoying watching the insects attracted to pollinators (secondary to #22 - but be a no-effort joy if someone else has done the planting)
#24 - tiny frogs on lilypads...which I have to agree are cute until they jump into your G&T! (a well-maintained pond)
#25 - frogsonghttps://youtu.be/6PMiP90ntZ8 (free)
#26 - capturing rare wildlife shots on camera (free - but comes at the cost to those unprepared to take well-meaning advice)
#27 - siehste (the thrill of "you see" subsequent to #26, even if its only ever a private thought)
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0 -
#28 - playing table-tennis with friends (presumably the kit has been bought and paid for)
#29 - perfect purchases (thrift price if chazzer / low-outlay vendors )
#30 - friendly manpower in the garden (an act of kindness rewarded with a cup of tea and a biscuit is preferable to paying a gardener)
#31 - a swim in a pool to yourself (cost of a session, plus off-peak good fortune)
#32 - a home spa experience consisting of a lying in the bath with the shower running concurrently (a bath full of temperate water, less the volume of your own body max)
And one more from me:
#33 - the thrill of relief after slathering one's skin in a good moisturiser (can be pricey, but is so worth it)No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I headed home after a week away and it felt like a completely different world (I mused as I pulled a bottle of vino out of the fridge).
#34 - the joy of returning home after time away: there's no place like home!
#35 - the comfort of sleeping in your own bedNo man is worth crawling on this earth.

@Nelliegrace - they are indeed brilliant things!
#38 - the joy only a Pressure King Pro (or Instant Pot) can bring! (I bit the bullet and bought a new one for £50, and am very impressed with the results. I now plan to cook lentils or beans with it once a week). No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Shiny jars of homemade jam do look like jewels.
#39 A new laid egg, still warm. The hen shouting, “I’ve laid an e-egg!” as she struts out of the nest box.

It was beautiful weather again yesterday - I try to make the most of it whilst it lasts! Am painfully aware it is the equinox and the sun is getting lower in the sky. I had to take pictures of this front garden, which is a delightful feast for the eyes and worth zooming in on to appreciate the detail:
#40 - Indian summer (nature is completely free, drink it in folks!)
#41 - a well-tended garden (again completely free to admire when its the fruits of another's labour)No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2 -
#42 Picking free apples from the garden, the canal, lane hedges, and the common. We had last year’s stored apples from September well into May, very few went bad.
