Santander Mortgage Renewal

Hello all! 

I am due to renew my mortgage in the next few months. I am currently with Santander, no issues what so ever.  

Due to being a complete !!!!!! with money & credit cards during COVID & "living my best life" - i am now in a DMP and my credit has plummeted since i took out my current mortgage product in 2020. 

Because of this - i will be remaining with Santander. I don't plan on extending the mortgage term, or borrowing more money. I just would like a simple "lets keep going no questions asked" sort of encounter. 

The rate i am currently on is 1.5% so i am obviously expecting a hefty increase - this is affordable with cut backs etc so not an issue in the grand scheme of things. 

I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance - I've been told there will be no affordability checks, is this right?

If you are keeping the mortgage the same (balance, term) lenders wont do any checks at all, they cant exactly shed you as a customer so i wouldn't worry.

Mine with a different lender last week was just a few button presses in the app (from 1.89 to 4%, I feel your pain)
