Average interest rates on two-year fixes are lower than those on five-year fixes for the first time since 2022, while the base rate now sits at 4% following a recent cut by the Bank of England. If I was due to remortgage in 6 months time I'd go for the cheapest mortgage I can get now. If the interest rate on the product drops, the lender often allows you to switch to the cheaper rate unless you're very close to drawdown.0
