Buy to let section 157 mortgage

Looking for advice on securing a buy to let mortgage on a section 157 house (we are local and rent but can’t afford a larger house at the moment). All the figures add up but Nat West say no. There must surely be some lenders out there?

Section 157 stipulates that a house that comes under Sect 157 MUST be the principal residence of the buyer. That is why I doubt anybody would offer a buy to let mortgage on the house.2

Thanks but that’s not what my mortgage advisor has said so we are surprised that it’s been refused. The estate agent didn’t seem to think it’s an issue either.0
