  • A good day yesterday, worked from the office and they bought lunch so that was great I went out for dinner in the evening but had discussed with one of my friends that I wanted cheap and cheerful as I was being good.  Fast forward to me going to the toilet and she paid, I did try give her half however it was a pre-congrats meal for the house apparently so my first NSD!  :)

I also called AO Care as I have some policies with them to review, where I found out I have been paying for a FF for the last 2 Years I don't actually have. Discussed this would have been cancelled etc and have pushed for a refund, they are coming back to me so fingers crossed!

Email from the solicitors this morning who have received my deeds, but not the signed plans so asked me to re-post! I cannot stomach the idea of £6.50 twice in the week so have told them to go back and check as they were in the same envelope  :s 1 Day to payday and still sat at £28.60

Payday updates !!  :# My monthly pay has gone up by just short of £100 a month after tax so from next month that's been allocated as an overpayment to my CC at a minimum, which should help!

I have started YNAB and glad I have as after allocating all my bills etc I had around £600 left, £600 wahoo, straight in the solicitors pot but when I then started looking at the month, 2 weeks of Back to school dinners/busses, Groceries (I am aiming at £250 this month but we will see how that actually works out) I have a friends big birthday party, gym etc etc it dwindled very very quickly.  Luckily I have some expenses back pay for a few months so £370 has now hit my account which I have stuck in the solicitors fund but lightning won't be striking twice with that one.

I have been paid early due to the bank holiday so glad I am paying some attention to what's coming up, and have spent £41.04 today at Asdaa this was on 2 x pairs of school pants for each of the boys and some stationary.  I did have £50 budgeted so the extra £9 is now going off the CC.  Due to this being my first month of giving this all the attention it needs I am letting my overpay pots build up for a week just incase I've missed something. I also have an emergency £20 in my things ive forgot fund  :D

The house is not likely to complete next week as planned, which does at least give me some more wiggle room with paying the costs, they didn't receive the signed plans which were returned in the same envelope as the deeds, I wasn't willing to fork out another £6.50 postage, still not over the shock of the first one  :D so asked them to check and surprise surprise they have now found them, but its caused another delay and we are now working towards 29/9!

Happy Friday to everyone, nothing much planned for us this weekend which is refreshing, we have been so busy lately.....Sat I am trying to do some more Vnted uploads and de-cluttering, my gym membership is £49.95 but it includes a pass for my son and 2 guest passes a month so we tend to go swimming on a Sat which is a good way to kill some time and technically free... Sunday we are back to football for my eldest (which providing I take my own drink and a £2.50 butty for the youngest observer) should be on the cheap side, I think I might actually get some baking done if I have the energy/time! x

  • Yesterday was a good day :) Got lots of washing done and we ended up going to the local sculpture park with a friend and her son, DS2 was dragged along with his scooter.  I had looked beforehand and entry was £11 a ticket but I arrived at 2:55 and they charged me £3.50 as an after 3PM visitor, no mention of this on the website so was a nice suprise! This is the same friend I went to lunch with during the week, so I did stop and get us some baked treats which were £8 for a huge box, she's GF so £3.50 for hers and she brought a flask of tea.  Still much cheaper than the Cafe, was a nice treat and I have the whole box -3 left for the week with the kids (lets see if they outlive Sunday)  :)

Lots of pottering about planned for today, Ive had a lazy morning but now going to get the washing put away and have a tidy, we have football at 12:45, its away so no butty to factor in either :D I had leant a friend my spot vac so going to pick that up and have a clean of the stairs and sofa arms...We are planning on fajitas for tea my nephew is coming up also, food is a very spendy area for me coffees here and there, the kids constantly asking for takeaways etc so I am going to meal plan Mon/Tues before going shopping today too.

Other than that we may go swimming, I want to give the front garden a cut and tidy which I usually pay my cousin £30 to do, but I don't think I drastically overspend on purchases its the here and there that I need to reign in, so going to have a go at doing this myself but these may become Monday jobs! Have a lovely bank holiday weekend if anyone is actually out there  :D

would you consider olio if there is a collector near you? I live in a small market town. Last night I could have had 10 x tesco burgers, pork joint, veggies. I only opted for bacon, and chocolate muffins as my freezer is already full with free stuff.

  • What a lovely weekend :) We headed to a park today and had a picnic, met some friends and even managed to drag DS1 into daylight, its always nice when he shows his face and does also prove he is still alive and not stuck in a cupboard somewhere.  I was on drinks and spent £4.50, their was a train and some smaller rides but neither of the boys were interested so it saved me some money and as they were busy playing football didn't ask about the boats either.  We picked my nephew up on the way back and had steak and chips, the boys then went to play football and I managed to finally tackle the front garden! Hooray! Admittedly it doesn't look as good as usual but it is much better and saved me £30.  I also had a lemon wreath for the front door that had seen better days so I had bought some replacement lemons last week and gave that a spruce this evening which looks a lot better.

I feel like im making good progress and it's a record low payday spend weekend for me! I am enjoying totting up on YNAB each evening and have all my little pots loaded, my Vinted £10 came in today so that's been paid off the CC, Ive paid £53.49 extra so far in addition to my usual payment, I have another £23 in my overpay pot but going to give it a few days.  I have sold a bag on Vinted today and posted straight away so going to let small amounts build up as was only £3 but glad to be getting rid of some bits also.

In the office tomorrow and the car is in for a service, not much going on other than that I am going to try keep busy in the house this week, sorting rather than spending, which is a new one for me.  I have roped mum into a car boot in 2 weeks so going to start putting some things aside for that! x

  • Back after the weekend and still trying to make small changes, I have reset my £30 misc for the week and had a move around of my YNAB pots.  There were a few things I haven't budgeted for which I have tried to change for Sept so I am in a better place next month but all covered.

My FF claim has been honoured and just short of £240 is being refunded by cheque in the next week so I am eagerly eyeing the post...I am going to get that paid straight off a CC  :) I am still a little short of my solicitor/broker funds etc but £420 which I plan to chip away at through the month and will have enough payday to cover so its getting a little exciting now.

Other than this, still spending WAY too much on takeaways, £150 in eating out/entertainment since I started back on YNAB so deffo something I need to focus on.  I have my lunch packed for work tomorrow, DS2 is back to school so finally a little order restored and DS2 back on Weds.  I have cancelled DS2 phone contract, It was sim only at £17 but managed to get it down to £10 elsewhere with a £40 amazon voucher as I was referred so that can go in the xmas fund when it comes.

Still no word from prolific  :/ Plenty to get on Vinted this week and I am considering a car-boot Sunday, they have started doing a PM near to us which sounds much more appealing in this cold weather. Had a good clean in my bedroom tonight and trying to do an hour or so straight from work each evening just to stay on top of things more than usual as I have been a little burned out the last few weeks x
