Healthy weight programmes

I only just became aware that my local council offer a healthy weight programme run at the council run sports centres.
These combine education (5 sessions) and fitness, and offer 14 weeks of free gym membership and swimming. Criteria and availability presumed vary council to council but thought I'd share.
I have always struggled with my weight and do far better in a support group session. So hoping with the combined exercise this attempt may be more sustained than others.
I had been looking for a gym to join, but as we are looking at moving didn't really want to commit to a specific area for a year. Adding whilst I could afford a gym, this free short membership will allow me to work out how often I will get to a gym.
Hopefully this helps someone

It differs a lot between various areas. Our council will give you a discounted membership but frankly I'd be eligible for that anyways due to my age. So not much help. But if you're living somewhere that has free sessions I'd certainly suggest it's worth a try.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
