Opos Limited scam?

I just received an email from this bunch, checked online and they seemed to be a legitimate debt collection agency.

I clicked the link to go to ‘my account’ online to be asked personal details including date of birth and contact details to verify I was the correct person. As this seems like a scam I called instead, only to be asked for the same personal details, which I naturally refused. Upon that he closed the call with a very dismissive tone that sounds like he hears the same thing multiple times every day.

I have zero debts, mortgage is paid, utilities all on direct debit, no credit card debt and never take out loans. As such, no concerns about impact on my credit rating. I can only assume this is either a scam or they have a debt from someone with a similar name and are too lazy to check properly.

Do I ignore them or send back a ‘prove it’ letter in the knowledge that they will probably say they can’t do anything without my personal details?
