ACI & Verify Chasing a very old or fictitious debt

Hi All

I have over the last 3 weeks suddenly become the focus of ACI UK & Verify for what I can only surmise is a very old debt (12+yrs) and with increasing frequency, letters / voicemails etc. While I cannot be certain if the debt is or is not mine. I am certain in my knowledge that I have not defaulted on any debt over the last 12 years, and I have never responded to any DCA's about any old debts and I do not have any CCJ's.

I am planning to send the new version of the "Statute Barred" Sticky letter, However the sentence;
"Limitation commences from the date specified in the default notice for payment of the arrears, this was on (insert date) which is over six years ago. " This requires a date which I do not have.

So I would like to amend this sentence to read "
"Limitation commences from the date specified in the default notice for payment of the arrears, which you have failed to provide in your correspondence for this alleged debt ".

Would this be ok?

I would also wish to remove Consent within this letter for ACI (or agents acting on their behalf turning up at my door as they have indicated) to contact me in any other way than by regular post. I am not sure about the wording though. So if anyone has any suggestions

"
In regards this matter I formally remove all consent of all forms of contact from ACI, its partners or agents by any means other than in writing". Any representative of your company or an agent acting on your behalf attempts to visit my home, they will be asked to leave immediately. Any such visit will be considered harassment, and I will report it to the appropriate authorities".

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

If you`re not sure the debt is even yours, its better to respond first with the "prove-it" letter rather than taking the statute barred approach, as you honestly don`t know the debts status or if you're even liable.

Also removing their right of implied access is a bit "freeman of the land" type stuff, I`m not really convinced by it, and it has no real legal basis.

Companies such as Verify have one job, and one job only, they are contracted to re-connect you with the lender, nothing more, they are about as relevant as JD Vance.

You can just quote GDPR (General data protection regulations) and ask to be contacted in writing only from now on, otherwise you will report them to the ICO.

You could just send National Debtline's rather vaguer Statute Barred letter https://nationaldebtline.org/get-information/sample-letters/time-has-run-out-recover-debt-ew/

This combo have been very active lately. I hope Verify staff aren't paid on results.

Verify have as much power as next door's kitty, just tell them to jog on, but don't use the water pistol.

If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Just send a prove-it. You don't know what it is. It might not even be your debt
