Filling in State Pension Voluntary Contributions Form IPC117.

Hi everyone,
My wife has finally received her e-mail from the DWP about how to pay voluntary NI contributions to top up her state pension, which includes the IPC117 form which needs to completed and sent to HMRC.
It looks mostly straightforward apart from one bullet point where it states you can ask for help and get someone else to fill in the form if you have difficulty doing it yourself. It then states you must sign the form yourself. I took that to mean there was somewhere specific we need to sign - even if, like us, you're not actually asking for help. However, there is no signature box anywhere on the form.
For anyone here who might have completed this form, does that mean she needs to just sign in some empty space on the form, or does it not need a signature if she hasn't asked for help? We tried to get through to DWP but with no luck.
Thanks in advance for any help!

It doesn’t need a signature. Are you going to use the form as it appears a rather outdated way of doing it these days. Most just use the Bank Transfer to transfer the funds and then follow it up with a chat via the HMRC Digital Assistant to confirm which years to allocate the payment against. Seems better than posting it using this form.0
