hope someone can help! am dealing with husbands affairs as he has slight dementia, Lowell are saying he owes money but the debts are ccjs from years ago which court payments were set at £1 per month as he has no income as I am breadwinner, they say no record but I know they were taken to court, just need to find paperwork in his jumble!! what is best way of dealing with this situation, am still paying the £1 a month so what can they do?

Send them medical evidence.

Agree with the above, you would have a very good case for getting these written off, those in similar situations on these boards have had mixed success, but mostly positive.

If he has no money then he can't pay anything towards these. And as they are his CCJs no one can make you pay them instead.
And also - what will happen if they aren't paid? He may not have a good enough credit history to apply for a mortgage, loan or get a new credit card. Given his unfortunate situation that sounds like a good result to me.
Medical evidence might best be provided with a debt and mental heath form. You can get a medical professional who has diagnosed his dementia to complete it. Please note that according to the British Medical Association no fee can be charged for completing this form.
