Help - I'm writing a WILL

This evening my wife and I, had a gentleman from a company called 'Trust Inheritance' visit to discuss our WILL.
Everything was very good but as this is the first time either of us has done anything like this I wondered if anyone else had used them.
They also offer a service called 'WILLS for Life' which seems a great option as although I have family that could be executors and sort things out it seems the laws are getting so wild that it could be more of a burden if I left it to a family member especially as we have young children.
Anyway the service is £2,250.00 and to me seems worth the money as they handle the estate, etc which is a lot less than a solicitor would.
Anyway I would really like your advice.
Thanks in advance

HOW MUCH?!?!?!?!
I completed mine through a local solicitor and it cost £112...........0 -
My dear old dad dropped dead before making a will.
By so doing he created the default situation where the Widow gets the first X of the estate but when there are kids, she only gets a "life interest" in half the remainder.
Where X is a number that is current at the date of death, probably enough to buy a modest retirement home.
Legally the "life interest" is an interest in possession trust (are you still with me?). So when mum popped her clogs, I as one of her two children and executors had to fill in some extra forms for the tax man to report the death of the trust. I had already filled in the forms to report my mothers death and IHT liability, using a Which? book costing a bit over 10 GBP. For checking mum's home made will and confirming I had filled in the forms correctly, a solicitor charged me 150 GBP.0 -

Actually after speaking with the solicitors there are many things I was told by this guy last night that are, well lets say stretched.
Thanks again and I will be keeping clear of these guys.

I am glad that you have found a more acceptable will arrangement, and hope that you continue to investigate until you are completely satisfied.
You should only do what you are comfortable doing.
There is much knowledge on every aspect of life within this one site.
And I am sure that you could contribute a fair bit of knowledge to the various forums yourself.
Good Luck

Anyone who finds the antics of Trust Inheritance unacceptable might like to sign the following petition:
http://petitionthem.com/default.asp?sect=detail&pet=4120
And I will declare an interest - I am a willwriter, and I am a member of the IPW, who have been campaigning for many years for the sector to be regulated.

When buying a pension ensure it has an "OPEN MARKET " option.
This means that when the time comes to claim the pension, the pot of money can be hawked round the pension providers to get the best deal.
The same thing is true of a will. Appoint honourable people you can trust (if there aren't any make your favourite charity your executor:D and leave it all to the charity).
When you die, your executors can buy as much legal assistance as they need and if times change the beneficiaries IF THEY ALL AGREE can change the will.
Your cannot rule from the other side of the grave, so why try.
