Declaring Bankruptcy after 6 years?

Hi all,
hoping for some advice.
hoping for some advice.
My bankruptcy was removed from my credit file last month and I’m not applying for a mortgage, or my broker is sorting it.
However it’s been 6 years and 1 month since the bankruptcy, he is saying he has to declare it? Even the question is “have you ever been declared bankrupt in the last 6 years” it’s now more than 6 years… ok a month more but still it’s more.
Surely you say no! If the question is or was have you EVER been bankrupt, then it’s a yes!
Am I being silly, or is he just being pedantic.
Cheers

Which lender?
As an example, Halifax instructs us to answer no to;-
"Have any applicant(s) ever been declared bankrupt or made arrangements with creditors?"
if the bankruptcy was registered more than six years ago.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. When were you discharged from the bankruptcy? If the discharge date was over 6 years ago and they are asking if you have been bankrupt in the last 6 years, then the answer would be no.

This is a bit odd, because I would say you are right. But at the same time, I have no idea how this is even coming up for discussion. As a broker I would do what I think is right (If I am wrong its on me), I would not be discussing how I am answering questions, it would never come up for conversation.

he then said he had to. Which I find odd given it’s over 6 years.Having since checked with my bank I gained a DIP with answering yes and haven’t discussed this with the broker as for one he seems way room rushed and would have happily had me apply and search for me 3 months ago while it was still on file and I didn’t want that. He’s also very sporadic with responses and I’ve since stepped away to do just own research and find that using a broker may not the be the best way for me.0 -

Nationwide are generally up there with the cheapest lenders, so I doubt you will get much lower unless it just so happens there is a cheaper lender on the day but in any event your probably talking £5 a month lower at most.

ETA: a similar recent thread - Home Insurance quote and historic CCJNote: here the question was "Have you ... been declared bankrupt or had a County Court Judgement (CCJ)..."
And the comment that I agree with was "The natural interpretation in the absence of it stating a time limit is "ever"".1
