Standard Life - ESG Kowtowing

In a move redolent of the sentiments in this post of 2023 re Aviva..

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6468194/aviva-pension-index-fund-changes-esg-applied/p1

...it would appear that Standard Life are deciding to make my pension investment simultaneously more passively invested an at the same time more actively ideologic. They are "closing my fund" and have "chosen an appropriate option"

I fundamentally disagree and think that this is an absolute disgrace

It's only because I have taken the time to properly read the letter that this has come to light. In my view the respective funds are in no way "equivalent" as even if the gross risk/volatility profile of the fund remains at the same level (5 in my case) they have added a completely new risk that I want absolutely nothing to do with. If I want PC funds then I'll choose PC funds. SL may consider it "enhanced", other opinions are available

Regards

Tet

If you don't like the terms of a restricted product, then move to a different product which doesn't restrict in the same way.

Given the sale of Standard Life to Phoenix, you would expect to see changes in the investment options  It happens when any company is sold.

If I remember correctly , SL used to have a number of ESG labelled funds, but they were told to stop labelling them as such, as they were hardly green at all.
Presume this is a way to get back to the original position as ESG funds are popular.

OP - SL pensions usually have at least 200 investment options, and it is very easy to change yours on their website if you wish.
