I'm posting this for a friend.
Friend came to work at my place of work.
They left their house and old life behind in April 2025, and started a new life here with accomodation provided.
However they failed to turn into work today (slept in) and was sacked by email.
The accomodation is provided by the workplace , they were bullied from day one by the owner , and he just wanted any excuse to terminate their employment.
Any advice ?

Unfortunately, with under two years' service they can sack your friend for any reason they please (except, of course, if they have sacked them on the basis of a protected characteristic.1

Looking at your previous thread, it's a pity you didn't dissuade your friend from joining a company with whom you have clearly been having issues: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6603783/reduced-hours/p1
So advice? Be a supportive friend but maybe don't get too involved with your friend's job hunt? Buy them a loud alarm clock?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!4
