Deadline missed maybe?

Hello readers
I'm new here and had a query around defence deadline. The claim I received on the claim form has issue dated: 30 June 2025. I submitted my AOS on the MCOL via my Govt Gateway account on 18th July 2025 and on 2nd August 2025 I submitted my defence via email, I suspect I didn't email my defence in time. Am I correct in concluding I've missed the deadline for submission of my defence? If so, any advice that can be offered?
Thanks

No, you were in time.
Check your MCOL history, has the CNBC placed a bar on the case? if so, they've seen your email.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You should have received the email auto response after submitting the defence email, so check your inbox and spam folders for it, to prove that the CNBC received it and replied
Your claim history should actually show that the claim was sent to you on 30th June and also should show that your AOS was completed around the 18th july, so I suggest that you should click on the claim reference number on MCOL, look for those entries and perhaps show us a redacted picture
They dont work weekends and are behind anyway so it could be a week or two before the defence is logged, which is why the new template is submitted on MCOL, not emailed
The deadline is 4pm on Monday, 4th August1 -

If it's an in-house ParkingEye claim for £130 plus court fees, they won't rush to get judgment on MCOL. Their own team aren't that quick out of the traps.
But if it's a DCB Legal claim for ParkingEye, they WILL go for judgment by Tuesday.
This is why we stopped advising emailing defences (advice changed 3 weeks ago to a shorter template defence and submitting it on MCOL). The CNBC is too slow and disorganised and last minute emailed defences are missed. If you have the latter, it will save you a headache (possible CCJ having to be unpicked) to just put the new defence in on MCOL this weekend. That will be your defence instead of the emailed one. Make sure you submit it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I agree with coupon mad above, better to input your defence into MCOL, within the 122 lines allowed, and be careful about spurious characters like > < " etc, try it and try SAVE, if it fits, submit it, ideally ASAP
Don't rely on the CNBC checking emails and placing a bar on the claim, you wont be happy if a default Judgment happens ( which can be unpicked, but why take a chance ? )1 -
