    Good news for OP, you forgot the state pension.
    Bad news for OP, you forgot tax - which is going to be a lot as one income is going to be big.  I make it more like £3.7M they need their assets to grow to on your assumptions.  That would need 10% real return for next 10 years.

    It would also make much more sense to buy an annuity with a survivor benefit for the partner's annuity as otherwise OP would be in trouble if they didn't die first.
