AA Loan sold to Antelope Loan

Fourth Anniversary First Post

I previously had a loan with AA and was making monthly payments without missing any payments as well as additional payments in order to save interest and pay off my loan quicker. When extra payments were made with the AA I was able to see the interest that I have saved as well as see the new end date of the loan. Unfortunately this loan was sold by the AA to Antelope Loans in May 2025. I have since been making extra payments on the account as I did whilst my loan was with the AA. I understand that Antelope loans specialize in ‘problem loans’ and as this loan has had no missing or late payments I do not know why this loan was sold.

I would like to be able to view the interest saved when making additional payments on top of my monthly payments as I was previously able to do with the AA.

I would also like to be able to view the new end date of the loan when the additional payments have been taken into account.

I would like to know why this account was sold to Antelope when this account has never had a missed or late payment.

I understand that Antelope have taken/bought many loans from loan providers over the last few months and I would like to hear from other people about thier experience.

    1) Did anything guarantee you that you could see this before you applied? If not they arent obligated to offer it

    2) Overpayment can either shorten the date or reduced the payments. Have you checked how they are treating it?

    3) AA was a front for Bank of Ireland who actually provided and serviced the loan. BoI has pulled out of the UK personal loans market so has sold off their book of loans

    4) Not had a BoI loan so no personal experience but have had other lending products sold between companies before. As its your liability to the lender thats being transferred the regulatory oversight is much lighter than if it was their liability to you like with savings accounts or insurance contracts.

A quick Google says Bank of Ireland (who is actually your loan provider) sold their personal loan book to Link Financial Outsourcing of which Antelope is a subsiduary.

If they don't provide the same functionality then all the things that you list above are just a wish list I'm afraid. Do they have on online facility to manage your account?

Nothing to do with your management of the loan, a corporate decision was made and the whole AA/BOI loan book has been sold to Antelope and Link as allowed in the T&Cs.
What information you can view is down to them and their systems, you will have to request anything outside of that.
