Hey all,
So the other day I received a letter from a debt company saying that they were taking over my debt for an Abbey National Credit Card. So this sparked a little confusion, as far as I am aware I don't remember owning any such thing in YEARS, and even if I remembered the debt, Abbey National hasn't been a company in many years. I thought it was a scam and threw the letter away, but they did have my name and address correct.
Then today, I got an email, from a company called Opos Ltd, who say they want to talk to me, there is a reference number and my name again, correct, but this isn't the same company that sent a letter the other day I don't think.
I haven't replied to either. I do HAVE debts but I have been paying them religiously every month, these are with Cabot Financial and JPMC and Wescot Credit and it wasn't any of these.
Does anyone know what might be going on? More importantly, what I should do?

Do nothing at the moment, see if Opos send you a letter by snail mail, if they do come back for advice. If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0

I expect the letter re the Abbey debt is just a fishing exercise. Don't bite. See if they send you another.

I'd be checking your credit files to see if there is any basis to these letters.0
