On Long-Term Fit Note, Awaiting WCA Assessment but Asked to Join Restart Scheme UC
Comments

DWP have a contract with the providers of Restart. And Job Centres have to refer claimants to Restart after 6 months of not working, if they have not had a WCA outcome. It is only in very exceptional circumstances where a Claimant is not in a position to take part in Restart, where a Job Centre can make that argument, that Restart referral should be deferred or cancelled.
If following WCA, the outcome is that LCWRA is awarded, Restart participation then becomes voluntary. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.2 -
At the end of the day, just look at your UC online claimant commitments. if it states I'm not required to look for work, then that's all you need to say to anyone contacting you.1

Thank you, I will do! Seeing them tomorrow.1

Thank you. My work plan says: 'I am not required to look for or apply for jobs at this time. My work coach will tell me if this changes.' My committment says 'I'll spend 5 hours a week looking and preparing for work'. It is what I have been doing this year anyways as a self-employed person because I am part-time postgrad.TheShape said:OP, what does you current Claimant Commitment require you to do?
What is recorded in the Hours per Week section of your Commitment?0
