Had 6 years NI to top up but left it to the deadline but was not able to select any payments on the website + with the 5th being a Saturday I was unable to contact anyone at HMRC to confirm.
Assumed that I missed the date and should have completed these payments before the 5th.
Have kicked myself ever since for the lost opportunity.
Anyway today got a letter from HMRC advising that they noted I was on the website on the 5th trying to make payments and apparently there was a glitch and they are offering me to make these missing payments at at the the backdated rates.
Some rare good news for me and am very relieved!
