JD Sports Refund Policy

Bought a pair of adidas tracksuit bottoms from JD for my little brother for Christmas.
He didn't like them (they look really baggy) so I took them back today for a refund.
In between buying them (2 weeks ago) and now they have gone down from £24.99 to £19.99 in the sale.
Because of this, despite me having a receipt to show I paid £24.99 on my credit card I was told I could only have a refund for £19.99 as this was the current price. I had to take a £5 JD gift card for the difference.
When I asked why I was told "it's company policy"
What the hell is that all about ??
I could understand it if I didn't have a receipt.. but I did. Just seems bizarre.
The only reason I could think of them doing this was to stop people bringing things back that are now in the sale and then re-buying them cheaper.. but by giving me the £5 gift card.. I could still do that if I wanted to.
Mental !!

i usually find jd sports pretty good regarding refunds even when bought online
but i would not have been happy at your refund re- gift card
here's a link regarding refunds from their site
http://www.jdsports.co.uk/help.aspx?id=72
if you're not happy give them a ring see what they say
just found a jd receipt and it says "refunds will be limited to the current saleable value"
