Frankie and Benny's discount voucher Groupon

My wife bought my son a Frankie and Benny's voucher from Groupon a couple of weeks ago to use at uni,  the voucher is £19.95 and it allows you to go with up to 4 people and get 2 starters and 2 mains or 2 mains and 2 desserts for £19.95 and then just pay for any drinks, extras , etc. I have used these on many occasions without issue , however he stated when he got home that they had charged him £37.60 on top , when I looked at the receipt they had literally taken off the £19.95 from the bill , I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to get in touch with them , however their complaints site isn't a complaints site it just logs your comments , has anyone had issues with them before and if so do you have any suggestions about how to actually speak to someone , Thanks in advance

Why didn't he challenge them at the time.
I've no experience of this voucher but he could always go back in there if they don't answer their phone

It was a gift from us , I think he thought it was just a voucher to contribute towards the meal
