Hi, I’m embarking on a self managed dmp after reading guidance on this forum.
Two of my accounts have now been passed to moorcroft. From what I can tell this just means they are collecting on behalf of the original debt and it hasn’t been sold to them. Do you advise to set up a payment plan or ignore them until it gets passed back to the original debt and then gets sold on.

They should have been defaulted.
Ok to start you proportional payment if that is your strategy0 -
Personal experience with moorcroft. They contacted me with three letters last August after a debt I had defaulted on 18 months before hand was given to them to deal with. I ignored them completely as wanted to kerp building my emergency fund and also needed to replace my car.
Almost a year on and I've heard nothing more from them or from the company the debt is owed to.1 -
When debts are assigned equitably, that means the collection company can only collect the balance outstanding if you are willing or able to pay it, they cannot enforce the rights of the creditor through the courts as they are not the creditor, so rely solely on your cooperation to get paid.
So in these circumstances Moorcroft are like a blunt knife to a piece of string, they may appear menacing but they just can`t cut it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
