Sponge cake

Hi all,
DH has decided he'd like a coffee cake and rather than buy one I've decided I really should try and make one! :eek:

I've been trying to find a recipe, but haven't got any baking powder....will this matter with SR flour, or should I wait until tomorrow to get some before I attempt baking one.

i would wait till tomorrow, my recipe uses 1 tsp baking powder with sr flour, be a shame for your cake not to turn out

I made a sponge cake the other day with only SR flour and it was fine.


Just googled and found two without extra baking powder.
