Hi, not sure if this is the correct forum category, so please advise if I should  be somewhere else.
I left my job in March, planning to live for a year on the pension my employers enrolled me in when it became compulsory! I arranged it so I drew the whole amount down after 6 April this year, and the pension company deducted the equivalent of a quarter of the amount to HMRC.
I completed the online refund on 5 May once I received the official paperwork from the pension company.
HMRC advised that my refund would be actioned mid June. When nothing had arrived by the end of June, I tracked my refund and the due date had moved to 16 July. I’ve just tracked it again and the date has moved to 17 August., and they won’t speak to me until that date has passed, but if it doesn’t arrive on that date & they move it back again, then they won’t speak to me until after the next date so it is effectively always catch 22. 🤷🏼♀️
Does anyone have any advice how I can advance this please? I have no other income and only have the money I took out of my pension pot to live on. I’m budgeted to early next year, but while HMRC has got the money I can’t make it earn interest, and I don’t want to leave chasing it to the point I’m squeaky bum on my finances.

Your thread title refers to 'repayment of pension contributions'. Is it possible you've applied for the wrong thing/followed the wrong process? The correct form is a P50Z from what you've said about your circumstances: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-a-tax-refund-if-youve-stopped-work-and-flexibly-accessed-all-of-your-pension-p50zhelenajosephine said:Hi, not sure if this is the correct forum category, so please advise if I should be somewhere else.I left my job in March, planning to live for a year on the pension my employers enrolled me in when it became compulsory! Are you certain that's the one you used - does your personal tax account confirm?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0

Thanks for responding. I did use the appropriate form for my application. I probably just haven’t explained it on here very well. HMRC have confirmed they are processing my refund/ rebate, but each date they have given has been bumped to the following month and I when I call the number for more info the connection is cut because they won’t speak to me until the date they have advised is passed (despite the fact it has passed 3 times)Marcon saidYour thread title refers to 'repayment of pension contributions'.
