Is my holiday entitlement right and/or fair?

I understand how my holiday entitlement is worked out but don’t think it is correct or fair.
I work 4 days on/4 days off including weekends, bank holidays, Christmas etc. Each day is a 12 hour shift including 1 hour unpaid lunch. This means on average I am at work 182 days per year. Those people at my company on a 5 days a week, 9 to 5 pattern (inc 1 hour unpaid lunch) are at work 260 days per year.
This means I work 2,002 hours per year and they (the 9 to 5ers) work 1,820 hours per year. We get less days holiday because we are physically at work less days (rather than hours).
The company argue that they are physically at work for 232 days and have 28 days paid holiday i.e. 260 paid days. So the number of paid holiday days as a percentage of working days is 12.07%.
Our total paid days is 182 therefore we are given 22 days paid days holiday which is 12.07% of my 182 at work days.
As I said, I understand the maths but don’t agree that it is fair as I spend more actual time (hours) at work per year albeit spread over fewer (longer) days.

Sounds fair to me.1

Your paid days off are significantly longer than those that do the regular 9-5 / 5 days a week. Because you work more hours in a year then presumably you get paid more than the others. Every days' holiday you take is eleven hours paid leave.
Every days holiday the 9-5ers take is seven hours paid leave.
Seems fair to me.1 -

The 9-5 workers have holiday 28/260 = 10.77% of the paid days
- Working days = 260 - 28 = 232, so as a ratio that 28/232 = 12.07%
- Holiday hours = 10.77% x 1820 = 196 hours
You have holiday 22/182 = 12.07% of the paid days
- Working days = 182 - 22 = 160, so as a ratio that's 22/160 = 13.75%
- Holiday hours = 12.07% x 2002 = 242 hours
You work 10% more hours (2002-1820 = 182) but you get 23.5% more holiday (242 - 196 = 46). to be equivalent, you should get 19.5 days.. treat the rest as a bonus!0 -
Are bank holidays part of the 9-5ers 28!days?
But in your favour you only need take 4 days off to have a 12 day holiday.Enjoy (& I know shifts are hard work)1 -

on a hours rather than 'days' / 'shift's basis you get at least the same hours if not more as evidenced by the %age
also with 4 on 4 off one 'block' of leave gives you 12 days away fro mthe workplace ( or 11 + a sleep day if you finish the block before leave on a night) ... if you are allowed 2 blocks together you are away from the work place for 20 days at the cost of 2 blocks worth of hours of leave
the other thing to remember with 4 on 4off is that you are at work for a 160ish days a year as a 'full time' worker0
