Thanks for the start Gers, hope you can wake up soon.First morning for ages that I have slept past 5am, must have been because it was a little cooler.Yesterday seemed to be a blur though plenty got done. Meeting an ex colleague for coffee this morning. I’m eager to get some areas of the garden properly weeded but despite some rain the ground is so hard. Tried a patch yesterday and got the fork in about half an inch so it’ll just have to wait.Have a good day all

Morning - I slept much later than usual. I was awake earlier and then dropped off again.Whilst still in bed I phoned my SIL in Melbourne. Her grandchildren's grandfather (children of her late DS) died yesterday aged 78 years. He was a truly lovely man and kept in touch with me about the children as the mother of them is totally out of touch with everyone. My SIL and the youngest DS (in QLD) plan to go down to the funeral. It'll be a huge affair, he and his wife had six children and umpteen grandchildren and at least one great-grandchild. The wife is from PG with a large number of family there too. They will do the PG way of mourning which is astounding.Anyway, apart from that all is fine. My exercise class was good, a bit tough after missing three weeks. The arms work was especially hard going but I refused to go to a lower weight of dumbbells, I needed to push on! I had prepped lunch before I left so it got wolfed down immediatelyNothing needs doing today as the rain is hammering down. I'll stay put.I hope that everyone is doing well too. Hugs especially to @Taff's OH, though a gentle one. Have a good day.14

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting off. I think now it's a bit cooler w are probably all sleeping a bit better.
Yesterday turned out better than forecast - no rain at all and the sun stayed with us all day. Today they say we will get drizzle at some point but not lasting long. Maybe summer is slowly coming back!
The hairdresser is due this morning around 9.30. It's not long since we all had it cut but she gets married next weekend and will then be away on honeymoon so we thought it's better early than later when our hair has got out of hand! I asked her not to cut much off last time as I have got used to it a little bit longer, so will say the same today and hope she 's not scissor happy!
I need to go down into town at some point today but will hang fire until a bit later in case I get a call saying my new specs are ready (says she hopefully!!) I am so fed up of swapping and changing into an assortment of old specs all the time!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. TAFF I think it's time you slowed down a bit, you seem to go from one strenuous job to another. RUBY I hope your DM is on the mend with the a/b's. Take care one and all and stay safe xx

Morning all from Mehefinland
Just a quick one for me today.
Had a call from DS last night to say they have booked a date for their wedding - June 6th next year. Whilst I am very pleased for them I have mixed emotions at the moment as you might expect. Won't have any trouble getting into my suit anyway lol.
Catch you all again soon. Hugs ns spoons as always an especially for the poodles

Morning All
Not raining at the moment but it could go either way - actually can see a bit of blue sky so fingers crossed.
Just taken friend's DD to work, her Mum and Dad have just landed at the airport after their holiday, no more dog duties.
Hope your DMum is recovering Ruby.
Sorry to hear of your diagnosis taff and OH's injuries.
Ooh, a wedding Mehefin, I can understand your mixed emotions.
Sorry to hear of the bereavement Gers, always sad to lose a lovely person.
I'm going to collect some school ties this morning ready for the new term then will probably have a nanna nap as I was awake at 5. Not going to any allotment unless the weather improves considerably - at least nothing needs watering with the amount of rain we've had.
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Morning! Well, at least it was cooler yesterday so I did some weeding, some thinking and some chatting at the allotment. Today will be more of the same, maybe some mowing and strimming. I do have to stop off at BM for some cat treats and tuna, and think of something for supper, I did come away yesterday with some beetroot, potatoes, courgettes and onions and I was going to do some ravioli with the beetroot tops, we'll see how long I spend there and how tired I am, might make some pasta for that...bit of sage butter...uh oh I have just convinced myself
Gers, everyone is allowed a lie in
well done for ploughing on with the weights too...Allie, yep, it's all totally dry, I can't get a fork in my ground at all. TA, fingers crossed for final specs! Rosy, I think I'd rather have sick than half a rat
my cats give presents too...hope he's fine now though! camelot, glad you've had plenty of rain, enjoy the nap! TTB, those dumplings sound lovely! Going to have to find a recipe....Ruby, hope your mum came away ok yesterday..Enjoy the day all, shout to the missing in action or inaction, hope you're all ok...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11 -

Morning all and thanks @Gers for the (later) start. Early enough though.
The weather was surprisingly nice yesterday and it didn't start to rain until about 2.30 pm. Come 3 pm, it was bucketing it down, just in time for the schools coming out. (Today is the last day of term here.) I heard several rumbles of thunder too. Today is another day of sunshine and thundery showers, temperatures around 20 or 21 deg.
Yesterday morning I went out for fruit - strawberries, grapes and flat peaches - and pottered around at home in the afternoon. I'm delighted with my new bedspread that was delivered at teatime (ordered on Saturday so excellent speedy service) and am now waiting for the other half of the order - two bathmats. The ones I'm currently using must be knocking on for 20 years old; if these last as long they'll see me out!
It's a stay at home day today and, seeing as the weather is thwarting my patio cleaning plans (too hot, too wet etc) I'm turning my attention to the last hotspot of decluttering - the large walk-in cupboard off the hallway. I managed to squeeze myself in there on Sunday to familiarise myself with the contents and now have a list to work from. Most of it is tools and other detritus that DH accumulated for Justin and, if I'm honest, it's only now I feel ready to deal with it. The plan is to reduce it by at least half - it will be a bit by bit affair, as and when I feel up to it. Tea tonight is ham & mushroom pasta.
@Gers - So sorry to hear your sad news.
@TA - Happy haircut day. Best wishes to your hairdresser on her wedding day. Roll on those new glasses!
@mehefin - It's only natural to have those mixed emotions. At least you won't have the problem of choosing a wedding hat!
No other news, so I'll get on with my day. Take care all, hope everyone is OK. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning all
Dry here and the sun is trying to come out I have a wash load in the wm so will hang that out once it’s finished.
Thank you for all the good wishes for mum, we had a very long day yesterday, we sat in the emergency ward for 10 hours 😩 saw various different nurses who took bloods, inserted a canular etc and then finally saw a Dr mums leg was getting worse and worse the whole time and by the time we saw the dr her leg was almost blistering and the infection had spread, the Dr wanted her on IV antibiotics and said she had two choices she could either go every day this week to another local hospital for the IV or they could admit her for a short while and get on top of it, we chose to admit her as my sister and I are both at work this week so it would have been impossible to get her there every day, so then we waited for a bed to become available, mum was sat in a wheelchair for hours and was shivering with cold, they finally found her a trolly and we got her on that and wrapped her up in blankets and waited another couple of hours, they finally got her a bed and we got her pyjamas on and got her into bed all warm, I was completely shattered so goodness knows how she was feeling. I think she would have been asleep before we got to the door.I have taken today off as I was just shattered and could not be responsible for other people today I went to bed around 9 and got up at 9.30 this morning so feel much more with it today.
I think I will go shopping today and get that out of the way I have my hospital appointment tomorrow so could go and visit mum afterwards.
Thursday I have my new lad although his football has been moved to a Friday so we will have to think of something else to do.
Rosy Lenny sounds delightful! Enjoy xxx
Have good days all and take care xx12
