Transfering a DB pension into Alpha?

I'm starting a civil service position next month and looking for advise on transfering in my DB pension. I see DC transfers have had a lot of coverage here, but not so much on DB. The buy in rates are the same as the cost of buying added pension which you can find in the Alpha pension spreadsheet. I am guessing but I wonder if you get effectively the transfer out value of your existing pension to invest into Alpha at this cost of benefit?
