PayPlan will do as instructed. And they should never have started you in a DMP until everything had defaulted. There may need to be some rejigging of the numbers but I doubt that would be starting from scratch.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. This is why we suggest going radio silent until you get the defaults, then start the dmp, be it stepchange, payplan or diy
If you are happy with Payplan, and the companies have refused to default then you could just live with it.
You could escalate the complaint but ICO and FOS are likely to side with the creditor1 -

I'd talk to PayPlan then. See what they can do to sort this out for you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. This is pretty early days. Some may well default in the next 6 months, and may take that long even if you were to stop paying them now.0

I'd tell Payplan to stop paying those ones now to encourage them to default. The sooner they default the better it is for you.0
