Most likely as above they will get a suspended possession order with terms to pay written in it . If you fail to keep up the payments they can reapply to court
You do still need to keep talking to them though
Even if i ask if they can take the monthly rent and arrears direct from UC?
And that can be for any reason, there could be a time in the future you no longer qualify for UC, or you may miss a payment for some other reason, so they would require a back up plan, and a CCJ gives them one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. You might also want to look at an SOA So that people can see your overall debt picture and advise on how to deal with the overall issue, not just the housing.I would not recommend borrowing from friends. it’s a good way to lose a friendship. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Just a update.
I have just come off the phone from my social housing landlord and they have agreed with having rent and arrears paid direct from UC and have moved the date of when they could start court action to the end of Aug.
she said if we paid rent on time in Aug and DWP set up the direct payments we will be ok.
it was not as bad as i though it was going to be and she did seem understanding and she did say if we could make extra payments if we had any spare money that will help to get the arrears.1 -
It's very reassuring to know that the conversation went well. Paying extra to get the arrears down faster is a good idea, but not if it means your other debts go up.0

Good, really glad that's sorted.
Do you have any CT debts? If so, they are now priority.
It would be useful to have a SOA listing all your debts. As you need some sort of solution for the non-essential debt particularly with the repayment schedule. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
