Top score 710

Options
Does anyone know why Trans Union uses such a random (I’d go so far as to say ‘stupid’) top score on their credit rating of 710, when 1000 would seem so much simpler for them and for Joe Public? I could even understand 999 as a top score at a push.

Or even 100? As an aside, my credit score went down because I spend close to 75% of my credit limit, despite always paying it off in full every month. Perhaps I should apply for an increase?

Could be 710. Or 999, or 42. Makes no difference, all just made-up numbers.

Presumably they use a number that's not 999 or 1000 because it makes it look a little less like it's just a made-up number (which it is).

Don't worry yourself with the score. What is more important is the details within the report. Length of time at address, lack of late payments, credit utilisation etc
