Supermarket Sardine Shortage

Options
Tesco shelves have been empty for weeks.
Aldi don't have any either.
Apparently global warming is affecting the plankton the shoals feed on in Morroco.
We are doomed.

Recently grabbed some in ASDA as the "Just Essentials" brand (or whatever yellow-own-labels are called this week!) had re-appeared.

The co-op supermarket seems to have good stocks at present.  Slightly more expensive @65p though.

There were a few cans of Tesco sardines in tomato sauce but they've disappeared. The John West brand is still on the shelves.

Glad someone has mentioned this. It's been hit but mostly miss, for months.
I did fork out for a big brand name in desperation.
Then saw a couple own brand in Morrisons but they were the last two.
Trouble is when people see some they buy double or more just in case and then the shelves are bare again.

I'll check out the co-op as 65p is a good rate down in tourist land.

I thought Brexit was supposed to revive the UK fishing industry?
Cornwall was once famous for pilchards (another name for sardines).
    What has gone wrong?

They are again canned in Cornwall and only £15 for a 100g tin.

The Cornish fishing industry is being ousted in some traditional fishing quays.

It's to make way for more tourist shops.
